Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi, I'm Aimee from PA.  I am really looking forward to reading and discussing Vixen with all of you.  I so agree that the excitement never wears off!!  I have probably participated in 8 First Look selections now and have enjoyed every one of them.  There is also just something about being one of the first to read a book before it hits the shelves...

Re: Welcome and Introductions

This is one time period that I am not too familiar with, so I am really looking forward to learning more about the '20's!

I have been confirmed!!!!!   Can't wait!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Me too!!  I don't even usually find the book in the front door.  One of my kids will find it and rush in, holding it in the air, yelling, "Mom, your new book is here!"  Then they fight over who gets to open it...I guess my enthusiasm is obvious.  I can only hope that it rubs off on them, and they are able to participate in such great book clubs when they get older!

I couldn't agree more.  I just get all giddy when the brown truck shows up with new books for me!  Of course that happens way to often, but what can you do?  I'm really excited about this selection.  I think it will be a great read and lots of fun to discuss.

Re: Welcome and Introductions (New)

Hi Everyone,

VIXEN will be my 7th First Look  selection. I am excited about reading this book. Hope I am confirmed.  The 1920's era interest me.  The topic is right up my alley.  I live in PA. I've worked in a library and bookstore before fully retiring.

Hi Paul, I'm beginning to get nervous about not being confirmed yet for Vixen!  This sounds like such a great read and I really want to read and discuss it!  I know you'll tell me to be patient and I'm trying but after having signed up on Monday and still waiting, my patience is going away!  I'll keep trying though!

Please consider me for this!  Thanks!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Lexa555, I hope you don't mind my chiming in here, but I love the diversity of opinion we have in the B&N book clubs. No, I don't agree with all views, but isn't that what makes us all special?! I look forward to discussing "Vixen" with you.  :smileyhappy:

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi,

I'm new to the boards and first look. But I've always love YA books and this one looks very intriguing. Hopefully I'll get a chance to be part of this discussion group!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi and Welcome to FL YA Cosbie!  While I am certainly not a YA anymore, I love those type of books and right now am reading a Nicholas Sparks book "The Lucky One!  Have you read that one?  It is very good and I am enjoying it1

Anyway, it's good to meet you and I look forward to reading and discussing this book with you and the others in the club!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I found out Friday, but was unable to stay on long enough to introduce myself.  I live in southern Illinois and since I received a confirmation letter, this will be my first ARC.  I can't wait!  I love to read, and this will be a way to continue without going to the library everyday to check out five books only to return them almost immediately.  lol

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hello! This will be my second First Look.  I just finished my first one and feel like after having my first one down, I understand the process better. I am looking forward to this go around!

I am a middle school teacher in West Harlem.  This is my 6th year teaching in West Harlem.  Before that I taught 5th grade in the suburbs of Orlando, Florida.  HUGE DIFFERENCE to say the least.

I love reading YA Fiction so I can share it with my students.  I try to motivate my students anyway I can to read. It is hard to get them interested, but I keep trying.  I am trying to raise money on donorschoose.org to get a classroom NOOK and fill it with books they might want to read.

I look forward to participating in this group and if you want to see my page for my class, http://www.donorschoose.org/we-teach/29314 is the link!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi!! I'm April and I am currently living in Maryland.  This is my 2nd First Look as I did the Nook First Look (The Writing Circle).

This sound like a wonderful time period (I read a ton but have never read a book set in the 20s), and I can't wait to get started!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I just sign up for Vixen and am anxiously awaiting my copy.  I am not a YA but I love reading just about anything although I am glad that this one is not about the supernatural.  I have read a number of them and I am ready for something new.  I just finished the Wake of Forgiveness and Crescendo and I am so happy to be included in Vixen.  Let the discussions begin...
