Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi All! I just signed up for Vixen. This will be my true first First Look (lol). I am participating in the Crescendo Sneak Peek right now though. Hope I get confirmed soon. I read lots of YA. Although I'm not really a young adult anymore.  I'm looking forward to this discussing this book with everyone.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

A book based out of the 1920's sounds interesting.

HI everyone, this really sounds great. My grandmother grew up in the roaring twenties and was always telling stories of the time so I'm really excited to be a part of this FL.

A little about me - I'm a full time professional from the St. Louis area, I serve as a board member for my local library district and am an avid, veracious reader.  Most Importantly though is that  I moderate the General Fiction book club here at B&N.com so in between First Looks and other reads why not give us a visit here http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/t5/Fiction-General-Discussion/bd-p/FictGeneral

I've been a part of the First Look program from the beginning and I really appreciate B&N for doing this, bringing us new and wonderful reads before they're published and letting us talk with the people behind the book too.

I can't wait to get started

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I just counted them and this will be my thirteeth FL book!!!! I am so excited --again.  I am a grandmother with a teenage granddaughter, a daughter who teaches preteens, and I am a former school teacher and young adult librarian assistant.  I have an avid interest in YA fiction and think some of the best stories I have read have come from that genre.  I am especially glad to hear it is not about the supernatural --as I believe the market for that is at a saturation point.

Thanks again to B&N for this opportunity.

Hi everyone, I am Elyse. Once I get confirmed for Vixen, this will be my 3rd ARC copy. I did the previous first look for the Wake of Forgivness, and currently in the Sneak Peek for Crescendo.

First Look's are soooo exciting! I, like others here, have been participating in FL's since the beginning, and the excitement never wears off. Hi, everyone! My name is Donna and while I am not a young adult anymore, I love reading YA literature. I live in Western MA with my husband and our dog, Oscar. We both love to read, as do our children, and I am constantly looking for books for growing grandchildren. I look forward to discussing "Vixen" with you!  :smileywink:

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I should have mentioned, I am from Oregon, where the weather is starting to turn into the rainy season and reading will become more and more an evening past time.

Hi My name is Linda

I love to read paranormal romances.. but I have to say this book caught my eye.

My Gram was a teen in the 20's and would tell stories of the time. The bood discription sounds like a fun read.

I have a house on the Eastern Shore in Berlin, MD near Assateague Island off of South Point Rd. The Ocean City Golf and Yacht Club is the exact location at the 6th tee box. Presently, I live in Upper Bucks County PA but will be retiring to my Eastern Shore home in a few years.

I agree the weather is great for reading and I am looking forward to this book. I have participated in about a dozen of the FL books in the past. I have enjoyed each and every one - they have allowed me to branch out my comfort zone.
