Anyone who likes roses has most likely heard of the David Austin roses -- beautiful, old-style roses that have been bred to save the best features of the old roses while offering the hardiness, pest-resistance and other benefits of modern roses. While each rose has to be judged on its own merits, it's hard to beat the David Austin roses for sheer beauty.
This would be a great Mother's Day gift, either by itself or with another book (such as our second featured book for May), maybe with a David Austin rose bush! I've listed a few other related books, too:
English Roses A History of the Fragrant Rose Roses Revealed ROSES Old-Fashioned and David Austin Roses 100 English Roses for the American Garden Botanica's Roses David Austin's English Roses English Rose Old Roses and English Roses Shrub Roses and Climbing Roses

Once a year I visit a David Austin Rose Garden at the Alnwick Garden in Northumberland and the perfume can be overwhelming on a warm June day - I could swoon!
Becke, I wonder if B&N would allow our own digital photographs to be uploaded to your threads? I feel it would be an asset for folks to show each other their own gardens here as well as being able to link to those on the internet. How about asking Jon if he could facilitate it?

Jon's reply:
This is something we’re thinking about adding in the future – I’ll let you know more once our plans are more solidified J
