What do you think of Rowling's drawings in the book?
I really, REALLY liked the drawing on the title page! Being of a Mexican descendancy, the skull at the top of the page really spoke to me. It reminds me a lot of the candy skulls we make at the Dia de los Muertos celebrations. I went through and looked at most of the illustrations (I may have skipped a few since I was in a rush to start reading), and I really enjoy her style. I think it fits really well with the history JKR created for these tales. They're really simple, but at the same time, they accentuate each story with their simplicity, with their almost childhood directness.
But, like I said, I fell in love with the title page!
And I really like the fact that it's a hard cover book, but has no detachable sleeve. That, to me, is a real plus!
What do you think, Connie? Or anyone else?
