Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Farewell!

[ Edited ]

Dear Harry Potter Book Club:

Just a quick note on my last day -

I hope you all keep the magic going here as long as you want to and are able to, and I hope you keep the magic going elsewhere in your lives and reading as well.

Most of all, I hope you all remember that the magic lives in you!  As Dumbledore would say, "Use it well."

It's been a pleasure sharing this story and the entire Harry Potter pop culture phenomenon with all of you for such an extended period of time.  I know I won't be the only one crying in the theater next summer when the last movie of the series comes to an end.  That forest scene with Harry and Snape is gonna be a killer.

Take care, everybody, and be well always. I have a feeling our paths may cross again one day.

Until then, I'll leave you with one of my favorite exit lines from the series:

"Give her hell from us, Peeves!" (OP:29:675).

Re: Farewell!

*sniffle*. Well I had figured out this would be your last weekend here, Connie, but I thought you would be on board until the first of June. Although I joined this group only recently, it's clear to me that you were doing an excellent job as moderator here. I won't say goodbye here, only "Au Revoir" in hopes that our paths will cross again in the future. Until then, Happy Trails to you!

Re: Farewell!

Connie, I wanted to stop by and wish you all the best.  I know you've been an asset to this board, and to B&N, and whatever comes, will come, with hopes of success for you.  You'll be missed.

Be well!
