Re: Favorite top 3 spells and why

Sectumsempra- let's face it, that would be awesome. I could use it on the prostitots(ha ha) :smileyhappy:
Accio-because I am the laziest person in the world
Silencio-because some people just need to shut up!

I forgot about Silencio. That I'd use on my kids when they are fighting with each other. Also when I want quiet to read my HP books!

Hello guys, just wanted to know what everyone's top 3 spells were. Here are mine.

1. Avada Kedavra: Lets face it its a killing curse quick clean and effective.

2. Protego: just try and hit me.

3. Ridikulus: get a boggart and let the hilarity ensue.

All right! I do love Expecto Patronus, but that was not in my mind until I read all yours. Here are my three pics:

Whatever Hermione used to make her little purse roomier inside. Let's face it, with 3 kids in tow one needs to carry a toy store, a drugstore and a supermarket around all inside the diaper bag!

Accio: for my keys and my cell phone which get lost all the time. If the cell was on I can call it but the keys... pretty embarrassing!

Imperius: to get my family, specially my daughter to do their chores without complaints...

Legilimenta (?) would be great with my son, that way I know what he really thinks...
Scourgify is another must have, but if Imperius is well done I probably don't need it :smileywink:

At our house we could really use Accio to find the channel changer!

I'm getting the feeling you have a tendency to loose things? Which is fine, I once lost my cell phone for 2 weeks. Yes, accio would've worked rather beautifully just then!

Re: Favorite top 3 spells and why

I'm glad my strategy of spells got such a great reaction :smileyhappy:.

Personally while this isn't a spell necesarily if I could have anything from the books it would be the Invisibility Cloak. I mean that would be awesome on so many levels. Esp. if you wanted to engage in criminal enterprises :smileyhappy:. That coupled with Oblivate would be wonderfully evil.

Peg's not the only one... I just found my keys which were lost for a whole week. I knew it was in the house but could not come up with a mental image of where in the heck I left them. This losing the keys happens to me a lot with the change in the weather... one day I have a coat, another I don't... Yeah, magic could come in handy!

Top 3 (as if I couldn't use the whole library of spells)

1 Expecto Patronum - Sometimes I just need a hug and I think that's the feeling you get from your patronus a warm fuzzy

2 Accio - so I can find my keys!

3 That one that makes you invisible - the good one that Dumbledore uses!

After I read some of these others I must say right up there with Hermione and Mary Poppins I could really use that handbag trick - in fact I think I might be willing to move Expecto in and out of first for that little gem!

Re: Favorite top 3 spells and why

Wow everyone has responded well. So far Accio and Expecto Patronus seem to be top used spells.

Re: Favorite top 3 spells and why

The Handy-Dandy Spells People Can Use When They Meet My Mother
(I See You’ve Met My Mother)

Legilimence (spell for mind reading ) And Yoga::
One must be completely relaxed when you meet my mother. For she is a very agitated person. She is the love of my life, I love her, I need her, but she is very agitated AND irritated most of the time. You must practice this spell. One must know what she is thinking , to give her piece. If you see in the back of her mind a piece or a big slice of pizza with anchovies, give it to her and she will give you entry into out humble abode, without scars, but clogged ears for she has an inborn sonorous spell that is automatically turned on when she talks. She is a nice person really. Deep, deep down.
(the accio spell is perhaps most effective if you want to gain entry into our residence. The house is only disturbed if you make a surprise appearance and my mother is roused,if she wants –like in my example—pizza, give it to her I beg you summon it as soon as you can ) block your mind of all ugly images of sorts. For she will always be able to tell a lie from one of your reactions to one of her sudden accusation (DO YOU WANT TO MARRY MY DAUGHTER???? ANSWER ME!) tell her the daughter is ugly and you’d rather marry a cow . she will lighten up considerably and you will become bestfriends,.

Alohomora (spell for opening locked doors or anything that’s closed, capped, like my mother) my mother loves a gentleman. And she likes to offer people things to sell even if you’re a visitor she does not care. You must buy something. There will be no way out you have just entered ze ante chamber. Example : Let me do that for you ma’am! (alohomora!) and mother will go, “well it’s good you have some manners!” snatch the bottle away from you and I guarantee she will be smiling secretly . A must.

One must also know how to use the CONFUNDUS CHARM
Edit and reedit and erase misinformation. Anything you say may be used against you.
My mother was sphinx in her past life.
Vicious and very cunning.

Will she like you?
Will you pass the test you shall meet upon our great entrance?
Will you endure every task?
You shall be praised above all if you do…

Re: Favorite top 3 spells and why

lol...the people who won't shut up...anyone in particular you would use it on, blink?

not to point out anyone.

AK would be good, yes. and for executions. a trifle more humane than most. the ultimate silencing spell...aha, unfortunately I can think of people to whom that might apply in my book.
