Ron's a Weasley, there'll be many children in that house. Though personally I hope just for the laughs a few of them (say 3 or 4) have an attitude like Fred and George. Can you imagine how appalled Hermione would be at her own kids?
Probably just as appalled as Molly -- not that it would do any good!

Do you think after a year of such outstanding success she would feel the same way about Fred & George's choice of career? Especially when they are acutally providing a public service in the back room "serious line" ? She seemed kind of awed by their talent to me... What would you think she'd want them to do? I didn't see a whole lot of real options among those career choices they were offered, did you?

Ah Gred and Forge probably wouldn't have many options of careers based on their scores. And yes her attitude toward their attitude to schoolwork would probably be worse than the one towards their chosen career. I also wonder how Hermoine is going to react to Fred and George's products now that the Peruvian Darkness Powder was used against some of the DA. WE shall see of course I just think it would be hilariously funny if Hermonie had to put up with several Fred and Georges

i agree. i actually think that both ron and ginny will die. it makes sense. from rowlings past writing she seems to like killing of those that are close to harry. either ron and ginny or ron and harry but definitly ron. and the end will be some melodramatic thing about harry and hermione mourning their death
JKR killed off Harry's parents right after she began to create the character of Harry, because she wanted him to be this sad orphan that readers could feel bad for. She killed off Sirius and Dumbledore so that Harry would have to face Voldemort on his own, without the help of his closest mentors. For Ron, Ginny, or Hermione to die, that would just be more sorrow to Harry. Sure, one of them could die in the middle of doing something heroic, but the story doesn't have to hinge on that, and their deaths would be purely emotional, like Cedric's.

i agree, i think ron will end up helping harry or saving hermione. i also think harry will kill voldemort with the same sword he used in COS. i dont think his wand will do him any good when it comes to using the killing curse.

I don't know I think Hermione will die because she is super smart and Voldemort might figure that she is too smart and figure out his plans. Also since their is a sort of Ron-Hermione love thing going on Voldemort could use that to sway Rons judgement.
I think your imagination might have just pulled this one out of nowhere. Voldemort has no interest in Hermione; he may not even know who she is (same with Ron). I don't think he'll be interested in her at all. And I doubt that Voldemort would want to sway Ron's judgement on anything. He's only interested in Harry.

What good does it do to kill Ron story wise other than angering readers. Ron, Neville, Hermionie, Ginny, Draco,Fred,George, and Luna are all likely safe in that I can't see JKR killing any of them off. I don't think you'll see Harry die either but it's becoming clear I'm in the minority there.
As for two main characters how about LV and Snape?? Those two would seem to reek of the most logical sense. Of the huge amount of good guys that it could be I think the ones that have the most chance of happening are Hagrid and Lupin but I don't see either of them dying and it also totally depends on what JKR's idea of a main character is as well. Lucius Malfoy as much as he's been involved in the books could easily be construed as a main character and it's not hard to see him not surviing the books at all.
I have to disagree with whom you deem safe and I'll tell you why. I have to think that the people closest to Harry (Ron, Hermione, Ginny) are going to be the people most vulnerable simply because as his best friends, they will be right in the thick of fighting with him. The more involved in the war they are, the more chances they have of death. It's mathematically probable. JK Rowling has been very devoted in terms of making this wizarding world as realistic as possible and real war is unbias in who it kills. I would love for both Ron and Hermione to make it, I don't think Ginny will be in much danger because of her previous mortal peril in COS but the chance that all three of them and Harry survives is slim.

Personally I don't think the prophecy is intended to be all that cryptic.
And, I agree that Ron isn't going to die. I think he may have to sacrifice in some big way, but I don't think that will mean his life.

I dont think Ron is going to die. If you remember, there was a prophecy that only a wizzard born on a specific date could defeat Voldemort but he would die too. And there were too wizzards born on that date: Harry and Neville Longbottom. For some reason I think it will be Neville who will die while killing Voldemort. Why else would she bother mentioning such prophecy?
