Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Isn't in interesting when we find a book or books we love how fulfilled we feel? I don't know quite how to explain it, but it's a thirst that drives us for more. I could live in a bookstore. I would be frightfully pale and have a huge head with a well-nourished brain, but I would love it. I'd also have jitters from all of the coffee.

Re: Tell me why.

I just read HP out of curiosity… heard about a book being banned because of its contents about witchcraft and stuff.. some said the author is a devil worshiper. Anyway I saw the book, a classmate bought it to school and got really anxious to see what the fuss was about.
The cover was interesting ( bespectackled boy on a broomstick) there was asomething about the drawing that drew me to reading it. And yes kreacher, HP had me at Vernon Dursley of Privet Drive.**sigh

I wish I can go back to 1997.. I still cant get over the feeling of “waiting for the next book”

Re: Tell me why.

I started the series cause I had just started working as a bookseller for B&N, and parents were coming in adn asking if they were as bad as the people who were trying to ban the books said, so I decided to read them so I could answer the concerns of the parents.

Re: Tell me why.

Why did you pick up Harry Potter to read?
Were any other books out in the series when you began reading them?
Did you like it from book 1, page 1?

I picked up HP to read because my History teacher in 6th grade read it to us. My sister was reading it, so I read it from the begining.

I read HP1 when HP4 had just came out.

Of course I liked it from beginning to end! :smileyhappy:

Chika, please don't inform mrsronald how to conduct the use of colours. You shall regret it! I swear. :smileyhappy:

Oh yeah, seriously. However, you could private message the rest of us, and we could drive mrsronald crazy with our newfound knowledge.

Well, I'm NOT a billionaire author, but I'll gladly share this color knowledge... Open the reply screen, click on "quote post" and look at what I've typed before and after the words "You mean like this?". The "font color=" tag turns the color on, the "/font" tag turns it off, the "b" and "/b" turns bold on and off. Each of those tags are encased by "less than" and "more than" signs which I can't type here without mucking everything up, because they tell the system that html code is being used.

The only other thing you need to know is that for everything you turn "on" you need to turn "off" as I did above.

Enjoy your new colorizing!

Psychee, just WHAT have you done?! Once mrsronald gets a hold of this new found knowledge...

Good morning everyone. As that's what it is, right? Yes. don't lecture me...sleep is an unnecessary life component. Overrated. Besides, I've already slept. :smileyhappy:
