Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

The Divination Challenge!

Hey everyone --

With a little help from the redoubtable Psychee, we've worked to get the amazing Divination Challenge modified so that everyone can post their answers. The existing threads (which record the predictions of those who already put their guesses in the original version) have now been re-opened.

This ultra-cool test of your predictive powers represents the collective energies of many of our most dedicated members, boiled down into more than 150 questions which ask you to map out what you think will happen in Deathly Hallows.

Check out the updated rules and the new deadline of July 19 for the challenge.

Have fun!

Re: The Divination Challenge!

Bill and Psychee, is there any way to print out these Divination Challenges without printing out everyone's answers as well? I am having trouble determining which answer belongs to which question without a hard copy to read as I'm trying to decide my answers to these questions. Please let me know.

Thank you for your help with this.

You should be able to click on "options" (right top button) over the message that has the questions, then choose "Print this message" from the drop-down menu.

You could also copy (control-C) and paste (control-V) it into Word (or similar software) and print out from there.

The Divination Challenge -- threads are closed

[ Edited ]
We've now closed the Divination Challenge threads to new posts. You can still "play along at home" if you like, but we are closing those threads just to keep them clearly set off as "predictions."

Psychee has kindly volunteered to compile an answer key for self-scoring, once the book is released, although it may take a little while for all the details to be accounted for. We hope everyone who enjoyed the Challenge will join us in thanking her for assembling it -- and we are grateful as well to all who joined in the original "We're just asking" thread which generated this amazing compendium of open questions.

In the meantime, congratulations to those of you who met the Challenge and put your predictions down for posterity!

Oh man, I can see it now...100 years from now there'll be a Potter class in some university and I'll be mentioned in a book somewhere about how insane my McEvil theory is : ) I'll be the laughing stock of the future ; ) NOT. : )
