The HP T-Shirt: "Everything I know about life...

Here's a new activity for us.  You know those T-Shirts that say things like "Everything I know about life I learned from my cat"  (or dog, or Startrek, or in kindergarten, and so forth) ?

Well, let's see what we would put on a "Everything I know about life I learned from Harry Potter" T-Shirt.

Here are four truisms I thought might do nicely...

• It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.
• To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.
• The truth is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution.
• It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

What would you add?

I'd like a few Hagridisms.  Personally, my T-shirt would probably read "Codswallop"

but on a more sober note "What's comin' will come, and we'll met it when it does".

As much as everyone hates LV.. you have to admit some of what he says rings true.

I am a fan of the following by or about Fred and George. My faveis still this one, but's probably too long for a t-shirt - "For instance, this new idea that You-Know-Who can kill with a single glance from his eyes. That’s a basilisk, listeners. If it has, it’s safe to look into its eyes, although if it really is You-Know-Who, that’s still likely to be the last thing you ever do."

Hey, speaking of t-shirts, did anyone get any of the shirts that were advertised on the Harry and the Potter's myspace page??? The ones that were pro-Obama?

Thanks, del.  I hadn't seen these.  It's probably especially appropriate since Obama is apparently a Harry Potter fan.  In an interview, Michelle Obama said that one of the ways her husband has been able to stay close to his daughters while working in the senate and campaigning has been through a commitment to read the Harry Potter books to one or both of them.  I think she said they'd read them all.

"Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi "

 "I solemnly swear that am up to no good ! "

Yeah, I would totally wear one that says any of the twins' quotes!!! Imagine a U-NO-POO T-shirt! hahahaha Right under it, it would say "The constipation sensation that's gripping the nation!"

You know, we should totally design our own Harry Potter t-shirts, even if we never print them! Although, having connections to the artsy people of Alpine and Marfa, Texas, I may just be able to get a hold of a silkscreen machine! Woot! Hello, homemade Harry Potter shirts!!!
