Thoughtful shares on your Harry Potter experience!!!!!!

[ Edited ]

Okay, all you have to do is type a good dreamy sentence of your beloved Harry Potter series and what it did to change your life (or if it didn't).

I first read The Sorcerer's Stone when I was in 4th grade. I was stubborn and wouldn't read any books until I got bored one day and picked up The Sorcerer's Stone, it changed me and I read many kinds of fantasy, Sci-fi, and mysterys. I'm proud of myself 'cause where would I be right now, a dumb kid who couldn't read and probably nothing else to do besides being obnoxious.

Hope that was a good example, well it really is supposed to be how it changed me. Even if it's a little change in your adult or teenage life please share it. :smileyhappy:

Re: Thoughtful shares on your Harry Potter experience!!!!!!

I began reading the Harry Potter series in December of 2010.  Although it didn't "change" my world, it definitely gave me a world inwhich I could escape for hours and hours!  It reminded me a lot of my childhood times at camp.  Although I'm beyond my thirties, this series provided a portal to an earlier time in my life that was wrought with intense yearning for parental independence and self exploration.  The series was so well written, I actually felt as if I were one of the students at Hogwarts, as I cherished the thrill of living vicariously through the characters' trials and adventures!  I could feel the independence and awe of new experiences as each hurdle was overcome.  What child doesn't secretly dream about attending a boarding school, far away from their parents, free to create their own existence?  This book took me there!   J.K. Rowling is truely a master at her craft!

Good one Dan21

My HP experience is one I love. I actually saw the first movie before I got into reading the series. After the first movie I was in love. I have read and reread the series that took me away to my happy place. I love the way JK described every detail, it created my escape. I know I am not the only one that dreamed of receiving my acceptance letter :smileytongue:

Re: Thoughtful shares on your Harry Potter experience!!!!!!

I only started reading Harry Potter last year. I hadn't seen the sixth movie yet but i had seen all of the others. I'm kind of dissappointed that i hadn't read it before that. I was already into books, but after Harry Potter i had a hard time reading anything else. It really took some amazing books to get me away from HP. but nothing is as good as HP. Harry Potter helped me decide what kind of books I like and it helped me get away. I really don't get along with ppl in my town because I stick up for the kids who are made fun of and that makes ppl mad. So i've been having trouble with friends, now I figured out that I have all that I need in my bookshelf haha.=)

don't look back... there is a reason why your past is the past.... so if someone didn't make it into your future... that just means that you will find someone better.
