Re: Welcome! Introduce Yourself Here!

Thanks Mollywobbles.  I won't be posting much, don't have enough strength to post AND re-read the series. So I will read instead : ) Its amazing how much you forget book to book, then you watch the movies and forget the details of the books.   I've forgotten the humor of Lee Jordan calling the first Quiddich match and the chess set talking to Harry, etc.  Love the books, ok, so I'm off for reading #9.   My 91 year old Aunt is still re-reading them too.

Hey Patty! I'm sorry to hear that you have been ill, and had to give up your beloved cupcakes. I haven't been able to post much lately, but I just had to check in on the eve of the HBP film-I won't get to see it until the DVD comes out, but there you go.

I too remember the duels, and while I didn't agree with your McEvil theory, I was amazed at the arguement you crafted.  Thank goodness Minerva lived up to my expectations of her, I don't think I could have borne her being a traitor-not coupled with my disillusionment about Dumbledore.

Anyway, I hope you are on the mend.

This is PattyBNUChick from long ago.  For some reason B&N won't let me use my old login.  Just checking in before the new movie.   I had no desire to reread the series as I had read the books 8 times before book 7 came out but the ghost of Snape came to me the other night and inspired me to start reading the series again. : )  Anyone here from 3 years ago?

Well, hello there, Patty!  Yes; many of us are still here...and many others are returning to talk about the new movie.

Have you seen it yet?  Let us know in the movie threads--we'll be interested in hearing your opinion, of course!

Great to "see" you again!

Wow, Molly.  Is that by choice?  It's hard for me to imagine someone as devoted to Harry Potter as you are waiting that long to see the latest film.  It's been 2 years since we've had a new book (other than Bard) or movie to chew over.  Ha.

Re: Welcome! Introduce Yourself Here!

I just don't do theatres, Connie.  Haven't been to a theatre (other than for live productions) since the mid 1980's-Star Trek IV-the Voyage Home. Even then, it was just because I was stuck in Ottawa on business over the weekend.

Too crowded, too noisy, sticky floors, uncomfortable seats, no smoking, and invariably, that really TALL person who always seems to sit in front of me and shifts repeatedly from cheek to cheek (and not the cheek on your face).  Nope, I'll be patient and wait until the DVD comes out.  The DVD will never be as good as the book, so why put up with the discomfort and inconvenience of a theatre when, probably in about 4 or 5 months, I can buy the DVD and enjoy it in the comfort of my den.

Oh, that's right, Molly.  I seem to remember asking you about this before, now.  I thought you were going to say something about "swine flu," etc. which I know keeps some people away from crowded areas these days, rationally or not.

Well, it probably won't be long before it's on DVD.

Hey, HPgal--There are a lot of HP "nerds" around these parts, so you'll feel right at home!  Glad to have you with us.

Javier Garcia

Hello! My name is Javier Garcia. I only used the name AlejandroOchoa because I like the way it sounds. I'm currently reading OOTP. I've watched every Harry Potter movie so far and I just loved them!

Re: Welcome! Introduce Yourself Here!

Hello everyone! Obviously, I'm new here and I'm a huge harry potter fan. My fave book out of them all is HP and the GOF, for some reason, even though it's not the best book in the series. Btw, I've just recently watched HP and the HBP a few days ago. It's not as good as the book, and some of the good scenes were cut out of the movie, but other than that, it was excellent. Anyway, nice to meet fellow harry potter fans.:robothappy:

Hi, Dragon--welcome!  Be sure to take off your caps lock when you write to us; ok?  In "computer-speak," all caps read as though the person is shouting.  Thanks!

Do you have a favorite HP book or movie?

Re: Welcome! Introduce Yourself Here!

Hey everyone! I'm Brodie and I think it's safe to say I am a Harry Potter fanatic... I see I'm among like minded people LOL. I first started the books in 2002 thanks to my awesome school teacher and since then my obsession has just grown stronger. My favourite books in the series would probably be a tie between Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows, love them both! My favourite movie so far is Half Blood Prince -  disappointed though I may be at some of the things they chose not to put in, the movie was just awesome and hilarious in parts. Loved it :smileyvery-happy:
