In today’s techno world it wouldn’t be unusual for a romance to feature an on-line dating service, but what takes author Jane Graves’ new release Heartstrings and Diamond Rings to another realm is the personal matching-making plot. Brandon as the match maker has to find out as much as he can about Alison and she in turn has to be as open as possible to ensure she finds the right match. They’re both learning about the other without the pressure ‘of 'this-needs-to-be-the-one-or-I’ll-die-old-and-alone.' In fact, Brandon’s not looking, and at first blush, he’s certainly not looking at Alison as anything but a client.  As the story moves forward, the reader becomes invested in their lives, their back stories, and their progression toward each other.  We see Alison evolve from a needy, biological clock ticking 30 something, to the woman she really is; smart, clever, and very caring.

While this is a tremendously warm-hearted story, it is also very clever and often times laugh out loud funny with wonderfully written ‘first date’ scenes.  If you haven’t read Jane Graves before, you’ve got an author to look forward to.  This is certainly a book to put on your to be read list.

What’s the worst first date story you’ve ever heard?

I once had a guy I had just met in a bar take me home to watch The Late Show with his parents. The problem was, his parents were in Costa Rica. Fortunately I got out of there alive and untouched!!

This book sounds great--a Clueless marchmaker and a girl who knows how to pick 'em. Can't wait to read it.
