Are you looking for a new author? Or maybe you want to read a book that everyone’s  talking about? However in this economy, when money is often budgeted to the last penny it’s hard to choose where to spend your book buying dollars, and you might not be as adventurous as you’d like. BUT, if you’ve got some loose change in the bottom of your hand bag, or if you’ve found a forgotten five dollar bill in the pocket of your jacket, you have what I call ‘found money’. Now found money is fun money. It wasn’t allocated to the grocery shopping or the electric bill, its money that you can spend on anything you want. Me? Well my found money is spent on books. And if you’ve got some found fun money lying around, there are some books you can read for only a dollar. Yes a dollar.**

If you’re looking to find a new author sometimes a novella is the best place to start. There are several that are only a dollar that will whet your appetite and give you a taste for the language and voice of an author. Cynthia Eden has a new paranormal novella titled Bound By Blood  .

If you haven’t tried a book by Cynthia Eden here’s your chance. Ms. Eden has written some wonderful romantic suspense like Deadly Fear and exciting paranormal romances like Eternal Hunter . Her characters are always multi-dimensional, the action is always fast paced, and the romance has a hard driving beat. So if you’re looking for a new voice to read in paranormal romance give Bound by Blood a chance.

Vampires and werewolves have been blood enemies for centuries, but now a new threat is rising...demons are escaping from hell and those demons are intent on wiping out both the vamps and the werewolves.

When you have no one to trust...
In order to stop the demons, pureblood vampire princess Morgan LaBeaux agrees to the treaty offered by werewolf alpha Jace Vaughn. She'll mate with him, share her blood with him...and in return, the wolves will aid the vampires in this battle.

The enemy of my enemy is my husband...
But Morgan doesn’t realize just how dangerous the wolves can truly be. Jace has been waiting years to claim her. He’s set a trap for his princess, and now that he has her, Jace doesn’t plan to let her go. He’ll send the demons back to hell, and he’ll keep his vampiress—forever.

The blood binds all

They call him many names, but Angelic isn't one of them...
Sebastian Ballister, the notorious Marquess of Dain, is big, bad, and dangerous to know. No respectable woman would have anything to do with the "Band and Blight of the Ballisters" - and he wants nothing to do with respectable women. He's determined to continue doing what he does best - sin and sin again - and all that's going swimmingly, thank you... until the day a shop door opens and she walks in.

She's too intelligent to fall for the worst man in the world...
Jessica Trent is a determined young woman, and she's going to drag her imbecile brother off the road to ruin, no matter what it takes. If saving him - and with him, her family and future - means taking on the devil himself, she won't back down. The trouble is, the devil in question is so shockingly irresistible, and the person who needs the most saving is - herself!

If you’re feeling a bit more extravagant there are some books for only $2.99.** You can’t even get a caramel crème whipped double latte for that. The two books I recently purchased are from two of my favorite authors. I didn’t have these two books in my library so I remedied that situation with the spare change that gets dumped on my dresser every night.

Dark Ruby by Lisa Jackson

Now only Trevin's return can save his son, rescue Gwynn from an unjust marriage, and rekindle their unbreakable bond of undying love.

Dare to Love   by Jaci Burton
A romantic game of chicken and they're both too stubborn to flinch. Lucy Fairchild, lawyer and heiress to the Fairchild fortune, has just had the worst day of her life. Her father has found the perfect man for her to marry. Yes, she's thirty and single, but that doesn't give her father the right to run her life. She'll choose her own husband someday. Jake Dalton is struggling to make his fledgling construction company a success. Ever mindful of his father's derogatory comments that he'd never amount to anything, he's spent his entire life trying to prove he's not a failure. From their first meeting on a construction site, verbal sparks fly.

1AnneB - I'm with you, the TBR on my Nook is waiting for me to take a vacation on a deserted island so I can read all day long with no interruptions.

Hi Marisa,

While I still love holding the real book in my hand, I'm never adverse to a good story or a good price no matter what format the book comes in. In trying to decide whether to buy an e-reader one day, I've have the free Nook for PC app on my computer and I have several stories on there that I've enjoyed. I've read books by all of these authors, but never checked out any ebooks by them.  I'll definitely be checking these out.  Thanks Marisa!  :smileyhappy:

Hey 1lovealwyas - my life changed the day I got my e-reader. I don't know what I did with out it. I still read a lot of paper books, but with my e-reader I also have the ability to carry around 60+ books at a time. It helps tremendously when I'm commuting to work.  I think the price of e-readers will continue to go down - and of course you could always ask for one for your birthday.

One of the joys of owning an e-reader is trying new authors when ever there is a sale; and it seems that every month there is something on sale. I've introduced myself to many new books and authors this way.

Enjoy the books!

I agree...I've been a reader all my life, but my NookColor has added so much more to my reading. I can carry the 150 titles I have on my NC with me to anywhere I go and they're all available when I want to read something.

The free and low priced ebooks and the free samples have introduced me to authors I'd never have known about otherwise.
