Heart wrenching part of the story is that the wife in question was my boyfriend's mom.
When the rosy Cold Duck goggles are donned, apparently lots of guests at nuptial banquets sure can look like just the thing - or just like sure things. That's only one of the reasons why weddings are such hot venues in which to grab something old in terms of friendly benefits, or maybe even borrow a little some-some new with a hot member of your best pal's wedding party.
If you haven't scored a wedding reception hook up, at least have the (delightful in)decency to cop to the fantasy, cause you know there's always a strapping groomsman -- or in the case of the hero and heroine of Karen S. Smith's vividly sensual and intensely arousing "Up to No Good " - a waiter or maid of honor or team of stag-party mates about to fill the bill.
Sexual arousal upon eye contact in church bodes only well for Kit and Emma when they meet at a mutual friend's marriage ceremony, and share private, sexually exciting moments over a lusty hymn, their vigorous duet outdone only by their mostly anonymous, hot, sweaty, up-against-a-tree number later that night.
Never expecting to see him again, Emma's floored when Kit crashes his way into another wedding she's attending after learning her name from friends. From there, it's off to the races as the two explore their mutual love of fast motorbikes and no-holds-barred libidinal satiation.
But Emma's never planned on the emotional commitment she's wanting with Kit, nor has she had a lover who's encouraged her to explore her rudest fantasies, which she'd thought were nicely raunchy, thanks very much.
Yet as she begins to trust Kit and allow him to see her fearlessness - and he finds for her more and more opportunities to act out fabulously bent scenarios with him and puh-len-ty of others -- she realizes the relationship's getting out of hand. What's a girl to do when she's got almost more willing hotties to make love to than she knows what to do with?
Well, to be honest, she knows exactly what she wants to do with them all, or at least has some thoughts on the matter. It's just that the idea of one boy hanging around through it all is giving her the sense that maybe he's up to no good - and that the explosive, yet terribly intimate eroticism they've been sharing may have to end for her heart's own good.
What do you love about wedding hook-up romances? What's your comfort zone w/ erotic romance pairings and why? Share some of your fave wedding hook-up romance novels (and your own stories, if you dare)!

Uhm. Wow. I'd have to say my comfort zone with erotic romance pairings is always being expanded. I know it might not always be boy/girl, singular on either part. And I'm okay with that...more than okay with that. Alright, it's a verra nice turn-on, w/o me being in any kind of vulnerable situation.
I went to the wedding of a girlfriend from work (long ago) with another girlfirend from work (sig. others left at home) and something must have been right in the universe...I danced the entire night with two (2) different guys and both let me know they were interrested in something else. Did I mention I was married? No, I didn't do anything with either guy. I had some morals.
Sigh.

I remember a Harlequin series by Leslie Kelly about wedding party hook-ups. And a wonderful wedding series (two, now that I think of it) by Patricia McLinn.
And isn't there a Rachel Gibson wedding party series?
Lately, I seem to be reading more books about jilted-at-the-altar brides than about wedding hook-ups.

Yeah, becke, wasn't someone just talking the other day about a series with bridesmaids or something? And what's the great kristan, oh, what's her last name, you were telling me about???
Well, Amy, this novels has something for (lots of) everyone(s).
I love wedding hook up stories when the heroine comes to the wedding w/some total jerk and ends up w/the hot groomsman, or ends up hooking up w/ the childhoos sweetheart. Oh! Portia DaCosta's got a totally how wedding hook up in a new Black Lace anthology. Sheesh, it takes place in a closet, ok? yeah.

Hey, Bellas! Welcome to the bridal party, hehe. More like a bacholerette party, hehe. Me, gonna be reading Nora Robert's Vision in White. Does that count? Never really read a book where a girl meets and falls in love with a groomsman, but, hey, there's something about a wedding, all the love in the air. Though I'm not much into erotic or erom, there's just something about those wedding bells!
Beverly Hills, that's wehre I want to be...

This is an excellent opportunity for MPG to resurface.
Wedding hook-ups. I think there are two main reasons they happen so often: PDFs and open bars.
PDFs (a.k.a. public displays of affection) happen so infrequently (let alone it being an ACTUAL and SINCERE PDF) that when it does happen, it's easy for everyone to get catch up in the emotions. But the other influence, the free flow of alcohol, clearly lowers everyone's inhabitions to make a number of wedding traditions more tolerable...namely, dancing and flirting.
Sorry I don't have any books to refer to, only my own observations (not experience) to weigh in on this topic.
Hope you are all well.

I always thought it was the dresses and guys in suits myself.
My hubby in a tux. I have to take a big stick with me to keep women who wouldn't give him a 3 sec look any other time, off him. I wear a dress, and guys I know for years think it's ok to get all handy and wow you look nice. (shaking head) Same body in that tshirt and jeans.

Rachel Gibson: Simply Irresistable
That's the book I was thinking of, but I think there are more books about four bridesmaids in Rachel Gibson's repertoire.
Also, Jeanne Adams' new book, Dark & Deadly, kicks off with a messed up wedding, too.

Hi Michelle
I've been having the very devil of a time trying to log in here, but finally achieved it!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the 'closet' story, set at the wedding. There's actually another story due out shortly, that's set at the *same* wedding, but with a different pair of wedding guests. It's in 'The Affair' anthology from Black Lace [fingers crossed it still appears!] and it's called 'A Lavish Affair'.
I absolutely love writing and reading stories set at weddings, and books with wedding scenarios in them. The one and only vampire story I wrote had a wedding in it too! LOL

Of course, there's the ultimate hero Hardy Cates taking a, um, moment or two with Haven in the beginning of Lisa Kleypas' Blue-Eyed Devil. She's a bridesmaid and he's a wedding crasher. And it gets all kinds of hot...
I wish I had a great wedding hook-up story, but alas, I don't. My husband looks great in a suit, though.
