When you combine the sheer pleasure of curling up with a book - taking a few moments to enter a world of creation and romance - with the excitement that comes from discovering a story to treasure, well, you've had a good time.
I've been feeling lucky because this happy experience kept repeating this month, and at Romantic Reads you can see the list of my favorite May reads. Not only were there new stories from reliable old favorite authors, but one debut writer so thoroughly delivered a sexy, warm-hearted contemporary story that I already read her June book! (I'm talking about Kristin Higgans, Sherry Thomas, and Jennifer Bernard respectively.)
But there are only so many hours in a day, and that number gets chewed up and spat out when you're raising children, working, cleaning, and cooking. So, sadly, there were some May titles that I didn't get to. Among these is Lisa Plumley's Melt Into You , which catapulted onto my TBR pile with the phrase "chocolatier Damon Torrance." Translation: the hero makes candy! I couldn't have come up with a more perfect character if I tried!
So, though the summer season is upon us and spring is waving goodbye, there's still a long weekend coming up, and I still have those precious moments a day where it's me and my book. I've posted what I'll be reading, and now I want to know from you:
What are your Memorial Day reading plans?

I just bought Jill Shalvis's newest Lucky Harbor book this morning. I'm not sure if it'll still be unread by Memorial Day. I also have Rick Riordan's latest 2 books as well. I haven't read Lisa Plumley for awhile, but you had me at chocolatier.

I also bought Jill Shalvis' new one this morning, and I have Susan Mallery's new one and several more I've picked up but not yet read. I always need a couple new ones for the hot days of summer when it's too miserable to be outside doing yard/garden work.
