Harper James has a good life: a successful divorce attorney, she’s got a home on the water in Martha’s Vineyard, a dog who adores her, and a hot fireman boyfriend. But she’s almost thirty-four, an age that nags at her for various reasons. She gets distracted from her life when her sister announces that she’s not only engaged for the third time, but her intended is the brother of Harper’s first love Nick Lowery.
Nick and Harper weren’t just boyfriend and girlfriend, they were married. Harper has carried the pain of this failure around for twelve years, though she doesn’t even realize the depth of how much she cares until she sees Nick again at her sister’s ceremony.
Each time Kristan publishes a book, I find myself unable to adequately express how good it is. You just have to read it to share in the joys and sadnesses of this special story; anyone who’s ever had to overcome personal problems in order to embrace all that life has to offer will identify with Harper and cheer her on as she works her way back to love.
But enough of my gushing; why not come to Romantic Reads and pump KH for information about this book yourself? She’ll be there all day today, ready, willing, and able to put up with our “we’re-not-worthy” praise.
week, happy reading!
