January has been a busy month at Romantic Reads. First we chatted with Julie Garwood, and then Lauren Willig diligently answered every question that we could think of to throw at her about her Pink Carnation series.
You’d think we’d slow things down and get ready for February, huh?
Well, it’s no rest for the wicked at RR, and to prove just how wicked we are, we have not one but two guests this week: Kaki Warner and Courtney Milan. And not only are we making them talk about their books, Pieces of Sky and Proof by Seduction, but they’re generously participating in our first-ever Debut Week!
Have you ever wanted to know what it was like for your favorite authors to sell their first books? We’re talking all about that fateful moment – known in the biz as “getting the call.” Courtney and Kaki share their “Call” stories right here, and today they’re talking about how best to find an agent. Check back all week for new debut-related threads.
And don’t forget to pop into their devoted threads to get the dirt on those actual books, the stories that made them debut authors. Pieces of Sky is going to appeal to all you western-lovers. And Proof by Seduction is a fresh new historical set in England. Both of these stories are well worth the read, and we’re so happy that the authors are willing to share juicy book nuggets with us!
Elsewhere at Romantic Reads: We’ve had a juicy discussion about Lora Leigh’s heroes and how romantic it is or isn’t when they share their women. We’re also talking about the great new releases that are out today: not only Laura Kinsale’s return Lessons in French, but books from Lynsay Sands, Stephanie Laurens, Robyn Carr, and Madeline Hunter.
Next week I’ll be here to gush about our February Feature books, and to welcome our February guests, Madeline Hunter and Lucy Monroe.
Happy Reading until then!
