Valentine by Jane Feather is a keeper-shelf historical romance, complete with a newly-inherited-but-penniless Earl and the woman he must marry to comply with the wishes of the previous lord's will. This is a good old-fashioned marriage-of-convenience story, but the sweet connection between Major Sylvester Galbraith and his intended, headstrong Theodora Belmont, makes this one worthy of your holiday hours.
There's no reason why you can't have your paranormal and read it too just because it's a day of romance. My Zombie Valentine is a collection of beyond-the-grave love stories from authors Katie MacAlister, Angie Fox, Marianne Mancusi, and Lisa Cach. The walking dead will never seem so lovey-dovey!
Romantic Readers know my loyalty for Rachel Gibson, so how could this day pass without me mentioning The Trouble with Valentine's Day ? The story of a failing PI named Kate Hamilton and an injured former hockey player, Rob Sutter, there's nothing more fun and frilly than reading about cynical Kate falling for the manly Rob.
One More Valentine by Anne Stuart takes the premise of a Valentine's Day-set story and runs wild with it. This Brigadoon-esque story is about a group of men doomed to return to Earth every February 13th, in penance for their participation in the St. Valentine's Day massacre. And if they can find a woman to love them during their brief touch with life, then their curse is broken.
