We Outta the Woods Yet?
I’m a little worried about you, so I’m saying this as your friend: Put down the remote and stop surfing for Tiger dish!
Your time would be better spent – and the acting of the female leads more engaging – if you simply rented the adult flicks they starred in before PGA Boy jumped all oats-sowing, Peter Pan-syndrome sportin’ bonehead, and catapulted the bodacious babes to their life-imitates-reality-show 15 minutes of infamy.
Don’t get me wrong; the chicks have every right to make choices about how they earn a buck and express their sexualities as, and with, consenting adults. All’s I’m sayin’ is there’s sexier entertainment – and more emotionally satisfying happy endings – to be found in this, my
Top 5 Romances to Read After You’ve Maxed Out on Tiger Trash
5. “On Demand,” by Justine Elyot: A young woman’s confidence and sensuality blossom when she’s mistaken for a call girl in a swank hotel. From that moment on, exploring the power of that fantasy – and learning the exotic penchents and desires of those who love and play lustfully w/in that hotel – becomes her raison d’etre, and the reader’s most erotic pleasure.
4. “For Your Arms Only ,” by Caroline Linden: A valiant army officer’s spent years working for the Home Office and trying to find evidence that would exonerate him from charges of treason. Only problem? Everyone thinks he died a traitor at Waterloo. He returns home “risen from the dead” to take on estate duties, as honor demands and meets an unconventional woman who not only attracts him, but whose family secrets could keep him from restoring his honor.
3. “Tender to His Touch ,” by Adrianna Byrd: Some romances just keep up a girl up nights, whether it’s readin’ ‘em, or re-living ‘em. In the final Hollington Homecoming read, two classmates who didn’t know each other back in the day, meet in a smoldering scene – with absolutely no flesh on flesh – before the homecoming festivities begin. An agreed-upon one-weekend stand between two successful people just looking for rejuvenating sex turns into much more for Lucius. And he’s about to use all of his considerable sensual appeal to win Beverly – and considerable may be putting it too mildly – because revealing he’s growing fond of her doesn’t seem to be winning him the case.
2. “Crimson & Steam ,” by Liz Maverick: A fantastic treat with a steam-punk blast from the past! Paranormal delight in the form of a society of “others,” i.e. vamps, weres and mechs – engineered part-human beings – melds with a trip to Victorian England, where this very cool stratified city of danger and political drama began. “Crimson and Steam” features a too-honorable-for-his-own-and-everyone-else’s-good vampire hero, and the dynamic woman he’s trying not to love. Wicked. Cool.
And the Number 1 Aprés Tiger-Trash Read…
“Suddenly Sexy ,” by Linda Francis Lee: This oldie but goodie features womanizing pro golfer Jesse Chapman who flees to his hometown to rehab his rep after a media fiasco. He’s (re)met his match when the all-grown-up girl next door decides she wants him to dig her like he does the centerfold models he’s famous for loving/leaving. Watching Jesse decide whether, how and when to become all grown up, too, is a thing of beauty and definitely sexy stuff.
What're you gonna' be reading instead of watching the 24/7 Tiger train wreck? How much or little of a bore-a-thon do you find the Woods story?

NOTHING!!! *crying*
As I've already lamented over at RBTB, I've so much stuff to learn (and I'm graduating in May - *more crying* - so practically everything has to be learned apart from what I need next week) and I'm still working on my Facharbeit (I remember Amy found the word funny), my scientific work which has to be turned in on 29 January. *never again ceasing to cry*
But I'll still try to get a glimpse of, say, some short story or something so I won't get insane!

Lisa, I'm sorry you don't have more time. That's aweful! Maybe you'll have more time over the holidays.
QB, I really don't care much about the whole Tiger thing. I mean, what he wants to do is his business. And, my tv died just yesterday, so right now I couldn't surf Tiger stuff even if I wanted to, hehe. But, I love the recs for it and how you tied them both in. It's great! I wonder if Tiger should come over here and check out the recs, as well. I'm thinkin maybe he needs a good HEA to take his mind off of things, hehe.

Well personally Michelle I'd rather read the back of the cereal box than any of the tabloids so there's no Tiger Talk in my house (well only by my husband, but then I'm really good at blocking his voice) but I love your choice of reads to give us all that little boost when the Tiger Sleeps Tonight ;-)

Hi Everyone!
I'm so burnt out on it all! Every little thing is scrutinized. I think if he lost his golf clubs, they'd report that too! Like Deb, I just block the reporter's voices out. Normally the celebrity stuff doesn't bother me, but this is drives me nuts, so no surfing at my house. It's drowned out Jon & Kate and thank Gawd Brangelina is on the back burner and David Letterman has dumped his own trials and tribulations and is glossing over them making jokes at Tiger's expense. It's a debacle!
Having romance reading to intercede in this raucous jungle of reality is definitely something to soothe the mind and gladden the heart. I'm reading one to escape to a tropical aisle or the Scottish Highlands or anywhere there's no tabloid reporting. Anywhere the Tiger isn't going is where I'm going to be. Before it's over, he may wish he'd read a romance novel instead.
Lisa, take some slow breaths and wind down, my friend. It'll all work itself out. It always does. Wishing you the best and sending lots of good vibes your way! ![]()

Nope, Becke I don't need golf at all! I don't think I can go there right now. Any sport, but that! He's taking an indefinite period off from the game. I hate that because I love his game, but I understand and wish him and his family well. Maybe this will die down soon. God I hope so! ![]()

I can't get away from golf. My dad lives for golf, like his father before him.

Hello, Michelle, I just wanted to thank you so much for recommending my book - especially as it is not even available at B&N yet. I'm hoping for a US release early in the New Year. Until then, your kind words are very much appreciated.
