Help finding a book.

When I was quite young, I remember reading a book from my grandmother's public library. I do not remember the title of the book, nor the author. I can only remember bits and pieces of the plot, and who knows if they are mixed up. I know where I can find it at my grandmother's library, but who knows if they moved it or got rid of it by now.

It was a fantasy book concerning dragons (I know that much). Anything else I remember about the book was that I think the main characters were a boy and a girl (siblings maybe), and they would walk off to this field where magic happened and things went dark... If I was at my grandmother's, I could ask her to go to the library, but 1. She lives 45 minutes away, 2. I don't trust her driving, and 3. She's not the greatest of people I'd like to see. It sounds horrible, but you would try to avoid someone a tad if they said you were overweight, your father was about to die from heart disease from smoking, your sister is obese and irresponsible and Hispanic, and your mother obese... and if she was prejudice and racist.

Anything else I know about the book is that it was a small paperback (but who knows if they make them bigger or with hardcovers), and it would be found in the kid's part of the library (even though it was a book about an inch thick).

Does anyone know? I would like to find out!

You might have better results if you post this on the Lost Books board

Re: Help finding a book.

Are you sure it was about dragons? I wonder if you're thinking of Madeleine L'Engle's A Wind In the Door. The boy thinks he saw a dragon in the vegitable garden, but it turned out to be a cherubim actually which played a big part in the story.
