Is there an email/alert function that's author based?

Hi all.

This may already exist, but so far I haven't found it anywhere on the site.

I'm looking for a way to set up alerts based on an author, so I get some form of notice (email? Alert on my nook?) when they come out with a new book.

Right now I have to check in every few months and search the authors I like one at a time to see if they have come out with anything new, and then scroll through the offerings in case the newest book isn't on top.

It would be great if we could get something like a "track this author" link next to the basic buttons on the website!

While it would be great, I don't know if it's anything you'll see anytime soon.  However, most authors have a website and a newsletter that will keep you informed.  Both Simon and Schuster and HarperCollins will let you sign up to track your favorite author.  I didn't check the other publishers.  May not be as convenient, but it would one way to get that information.

Also, Goodreads has a New Releases newsletter. It can be customized to show only the authors you read, based on what you've input into Goodreads.

I also asked back this months back online here at B&N & on the Nook page on FB.  Got no replies.  I find it frustrating I never got a reply.

I always seen to have to leave the last book of a favorite author on my Nook wallpaper, to remind me if another book in their series has come out.
