@bklvr896 - it might be triggered by trying to add to it. But if it was some kind of limit, it is bizarre that it prevents you from seeing it at all.

No word from the folks maning the twitter, but hopefully they've passed it on.

The wishlist has had problems for a couple of months now.  They probably tried to fix the other problems and cause a new one.:smileymad:

Re: Website wishlist issues

I just got that today, too.  And I never saw anything about there being a limit to the number of books you can have in the wish list.  I don't even have that many, it's not like it was hundreds.

I've emailed support, but they were absolutely no help in the problem with adding books to the list before -- it didn't seem as though they'd even read the email before responding.

Re: Website wishlist issues

Add me to the list. I got the error message yesterday. I also had crappy CS issues connected with this. My Nook WL was working fine then I went to view it and got the "This creation has reached its limit" I had less than 50 on there. The live chat girl just gave me the canned response but either had no idea or didn't care.

Re: Website wishlist issues

Just chatted with a CS rep named Ethan whose answer today was "we expect a resolution by the end of next week. Our techincal team has this now". WTF??? It takes them 2 weeks to fix a bug that prevents people from buying stuff? Very disappointed.

Yes, it can take 2 weeks to fix a bug, because the first problem you run into is figuring out what is causing it.  It's not always straight forward, especially with computers.  I had the power saver functions stop working on my computer once, because I plugged in a wireless mouse/keyboard receiver.

Then once they find it and determine a fix, they need to test that fix, make sure it works on various systems and that it doesn't cause some other problem.  I have a idea that this current problem is a result of them trying to fix the original problem of not being able to add books to the wishlist.

Do I wish they'd fix it faster, yes, but I'd rather they take the time to throughly test whatever fix they put in place instead of rushing a fix that may break something else.

And to the poster who said it appeared they didn't read your first email, they probably didn't.  Most companies have some type of system in place to scan the email for key words and kick back a probable response.  If you reply to that email, it will then go to a person who will read it.

Actually, I tried that.  No better response.

You can try one of the twitter accounts. Real people read and respond to those.

I really wish they'd hurry up with the fixing. I wanted to use my gift card on a few nookbooks

Re: Website wishlist issues

I have two wishlist. One titled My Wishlist and one titled My Nook Book Wishlist. The first one I can see just fine, although I have not tried to add to it.  The second one, I can not see at all and I get a message stating "The creation has reached its limit."  Today is the first time I've tried to access it in a few days, so I don't know when the issue started.

I just tried adding a Nookbook today, now i'm getting this error. "The creation has reached the limit." I had about 20 books on the list.

Re: Website wishlist issues

I've been getting the error message for a couple of weeks. With 450+ books on my list, it's annoying but I like to look at from the positive side.  This error is saving me anywhere from $10 to $30 a week since I make 98% of my puchases from my ewish list.  Before anyone asks, I surf (when I can) at work adding books that interest me at the time (might/might not get them) everyday then normally only purchase on Friday/Saturday.  No more than 10 books a week, so my list expands more than shrinks.  I've hit the 500 limit many times.  The error for hitting the 500 limit is the same but it pops up for that specific book, not the whole list.

Same here. I have since started a wishlist on Amazon.com. From the looks of past posts this could be awile before it's fixed. My nook touch is rooted so I don't have any issues purchasing Kindle books and reading them on my touch.

That brings me to another rant. My touch wishlist has never had a book in it. Without syncing with the site it's a useless feature.

Re: Website wishlist issues

I had wishlist problems, then I made 2 more wishlists, now only one wishlist works. " My Wishlist"  I had a nook book wishlist . That stopped working. I made a nook wishlist 2. That stopped working, everything got funneled to" My Wishlist"  Now I have all them combined ,still only nook books under 80 from 3 lists .

And suprise suprise ! I got the error message of reaching my limit on the surviving Wishlist !  Which now of course I can't access.

Re: Website wishlist issues

Trying some things today, I was finally able to replicate the "creation has reached the limit" error.

1) I first tried adding an item online from within the My NOOK Book Wishlist. This worked, as always.

2) Went to a different item's page. Saw that the Add to List + dropdown had the NOOK option back. Clicked it. It seemed to work. (Though it required me to "login" again, when I was already logged in.)

3) Tried to go to wishlist and got the error.

And if it matters, I'm on a PC with Windows XP, service pack 3. Using Firefox 6.0.1. Haven't cleared cache or cookies prior/subsequent to trying any of these things.

But, if it helps in getting this long standing annoyance cleared up, so be it.

Re: Website wishlist issues

This is a very annoying issue... more so than the previous one of not being able to add NOOK books to my wishlist. Now I can't add OR see the ones I've added in the past. It sure is taking a long time to fix!

There also seem to be a number of other website issues as well. B&N doesn't seem to be staying on top of this stuff very well. I never have any issues at amazon at all, not to diss B&N, because I'm a big fan of both stores, but these various troubles at B&N are getting old!

Re: Website wishlist issues

This seems to be striking a chord with a lot of people because up until early last month it was working.  Somebody broke it.  Nobody has fixed it.  Promises to fix it don't seem to be kept.

That's my take on it, as long as you don't try an add a book to the Nookbook wishlist you won't get this error, but as soon as you do, you'll get the error.

I personally think this is a result of them trying to fix the add to wishlist problem, whatever they did, caused another, more annoying problem.

How about just deleting some of the items from your wishlist! You can access this feature under "My Account". This is where I find I could also create new wishlist. In another thread allowing 500 in a wishlist is way to much, but B&N is at least allowing you all to do that!

Another Android Device (Nook Color)! Looking forward to the day I can use One Device Big Enough Screen Wise for: Phone and Surfing the Net.....this NC is Just Right!

Well no, I can't delete anything because I can't get to the wishlist.  That's the problem for a large majority of us, we can't get to the wishlist at all.

I can't even see the entire drop down list, as it drops down behind the "We've created your first wish list for you! You can start adding items now or create a new wish list for a different occasion"

Re: Website wishlist issues

Even if I could get to my wishlist, which I can't at all, I'm pretty sure the 40 books I have on it falls a little below the 500 book limit.  Sorry if this comes across snarky, but this is a B&N issue, not a user issue.  If you can still get to yours, count yourself lucky.  I haven't been able to add books since november, and now can't access the list at all.  Super Service.  Glad I only had 40 books on it, unlike many others around here.

[ Edited ]

Cannot see my original wish list.  When I add an item (today I added one), then after adding I hit the link again takes me a wishlist (not my original) with 2 books on it.  Then when I click the dropdown and select see nook wishlist - The creation has reached its limit.

Windows 7, Mozilla Firefox 10.0.2.

From my tablet - going thru the account page, click on my nook wishlist - creation error.  1.4.2 software, Nook 16 gb tablet.

I've got $50 in BN gift cards to spend, but I'm thinking of just flipping them to Plastic Jungle and pocketing the cash.  I really have a hard time spending on this site lately since I do not feel they have a good tech department and well, the customer service is severely lacking.

*Edited - because I figured I'd give it one more college try, I contaced an online person who assured me that it should be fixed in 24 to 48 hours.  Must be related to the same person that said it would be fixed this week......
