I'm so angry and mind-boggled about this I don't even know where to start.
I used to have (well, still have, although I don't use it) a Kindle, but I got a Nook Simple Touch because it's so much easier to use. Filled with love and loyalty for my nook, last year I went to my (extensive) Amazon wish list, added everything I could find available on Nook to my Nook wish list and then tidily deleted all those items from my Amazon wish list. I was pretty taken aback when I realized that my friends and family could not access my Nook wish list for presents, and even more upset when I realized I couldn't access my Nook wish list from my Nook, but I stayed loyal.
Boy, am I regretting that now.
Whenever I see a book that looks interesting, I add it to my wish list. I frequently buy off the list, but there are many more yet to be bought. Years of making a note of interesting books -- lost.
So I ask myself this. How can a company as big and successful as B&N get this SO WRONG? How can you make it so difficult for us to spend money on your website? How can you make us regret something we want to feel a happy, loyal connection with? Nook owners are your absolute core market. The people who are loyal customers and who are ready to spend and spend and spend. Despite the fact that your website generally is awful, especially compared to Amazon.
And how do you repay us for this? Do you encourage and reward us? No! You punish us and try to drive us away from buying books!
This is amateur hour, people! Get it together! If this had been a day or two, fine. But it's been MONTHS!
I still love my Nook. But I'm not feeling too positive about the store that sold it to me.

We're at a month now with this? It lets me (figuratively) add books to my Nook WL- but since I can't view it, I can't verify the new books are there. I can still buy a book as I've picked up a few freebies. BUt, I'm simply not spending any more money on ebooks until I can buy them off my Nook WL function. Pain in my ass, this is.

There's no indication that the lists are lost, they're's simply a problem accessing them. Since they stored on a server somewhere in a database, that most likely has backups, for the lists to actually be lost, they'd have to have lost the database and any backups. Alex also reported the wishlists weren't lost or erased, so until I have evidence otherwise, I'm going to assume my wishlist is somewhere out there and I'll get it back eventually.
It's annoying that it's been so long since the wishlist worked properly, it makes buying books more difficult, and I haven't purchased as many books since this started, but in the grand scheme of things, at least in my life, it's a annoyance at best. (And I do have 2 years worth of books on the list)

You hit the nail on the head. I’m not buying another thing from them until this is fixed. I put time and effort into my list – and it was only about 73 books – nowhere near the 500 limit. I’ve spent tons of money already at bn.com and I feel that as a paying customer who supports their business, I deserve an honest answer and some actual real technical service.
If BN tech department hasn’t figured it out in over a month – then possibly its time to clean house and hire some good ones! As for customer service, its severely lacking and the continued ignoring of this problem really only goes to show your customers that you do not care about us. Not a very good PR move IMO.

To gunmetalgray -- when you say your nook touch is "rooted" and that you can read Kindle books on it, can you explain this?
This wishlist business is really getting old. I wrote a nasty e-mail yesterday to customer service. I hate doing that, because the poor sucker who's reading it isn't the one responsible for the problem. How can you run a business like this? I've spent thousands of dollars in the last 18 months at B&N and I'm really regretting going with nook over Kindle. If there were an inexpensive way (maybe a dollar a title) to convert my library I'd definitely leave B&N behind. My nook is on the verge of needing to be replaced (cracked bezel) and I was thinking of going with the touch, despite the lack of 3G, but I don't want to put more money into B&N at this point if they're this tone-deaf.

I'm another one who is getting the "This creation has reached its limit" message. What worries me is that I can't even see the list at all, much less edit it. I'm scared those books I"m listing for future purchases will just disappear. I would hate to have to go back to that old fashioned device, pencil and paper (shudder).

I'm not giving the another dime until we get some customer service response AND a fix.

I just got the "The creation has reached the limit" message tonight, which I could honestly believe is because I hit the limit. It is just aggravating that I cannot access the list to delete entries that I did get to knock the size down. And from what I read here, I get the feeling I'm going to have to rebuild this list from scratch... I just hope I can remember everything that was on it.
ADDENDA
I thought that I could create a new wish list to put nook books on until this is resolved, but it appears that ebooks can only go on the ebook wish list. This error also only seems to affect the ebook wish list as well (I have one for graphic novels and it is not affected).

My Nook Book Wish List says: This Creation Has Reached It's Limit. What the heck does THAT mean ??? My e-mails to B & N always get the same reply...we are aware of the problem.
BUT,...I have friends with Nooks andthey are not having ANY problems adding books to their Nook Wish List.
So..again...what the heck IS REALLY GOING ON ????

To anonymouseCRS:
When you root the nook touch you can get access to the android market, were you can install the Android Kindle app on the nook touch. Were all purchased Kindle books can be download and read.
I'm also still getting the same error on my nookbook wishlist page.

I am so frustrated, I have had the 'creation has reached it's limit' error message for a good week now. I tried a live chat with customer service, they said it would be fixed in 48 hours, it's been days and it's still not available. I know I don't have enough on there to reach a limit and I'd really like to purchase some books but I cannot reach the darn list. Gah! I don't have every books I was interested in memorized, that was the point of the list.

Are they adding from the website or using the device? Unless they have the original Nook, the wishlist on the actual device is separate from the website wishlist. I can add books to the wishlist on my NookColor or NST, but not on the website.

I've pretty much given up on the B&N wishlist and the reviews. I've been utilizing Good Reads. It's not quite as convenient, but it works well enough.

Good luck. I have given up on theBN support group. I have had the problem for at least a month now, with my original call saying a fix would be delivered in about 72 hours! I monitor these posts to see if anything has been done but without satisfaction.
BN has not delivered here and it is bery frustrating to all of us dealing with lies, obfuscations, etc. If BN goes under, it is deserved.

I have been receiving the "this creation has reached its limit" error for 2 weeks now. The first time I contatcted Customer Service via the Live Chat option, they did let me know that it was something on their end. When I contacted CS the week after via Live Chat, I was told that they are continuing to fix the error and was not given a time limit.
I am trying to look on the bright side in the fact that I'm saving money, but at the same time, I'm getting a little antsy at the fact I can't buy those books I want on my wishlist especially since I can't remember all the ones I want.

Really!?!? Still not fixed!?!? Seriously... how long can this take?!? It's getting on my nerves... I will not buy ANY more books from B&N, NOOK or otherwise, web or brick and mortar, until this is fixed!
(Like my emphatic punctuation?)

I do. It sounds like you're channeling Seth and Amy on SNL Weekend Update. Really, B&N??!!!
The only trouble is that they've demonstrated repeatedly that they're incapable of being embarrassed or pressured by us customers. My guess is that none of the executives read these forums anyway. If they thought the forums, and us, were important, they wouldn't have made it so *&%$! hard to find this place.

My wishlist is back and working. I added several books this evening. Thank you B&N for finally getting it done. It seems to be sorting the books a bit weird, but I can live with that. I suppose it could also be operator error. ![]()
I hope others are finding theirs working also.

Mine is working, however it is hard to locate, but I did manage to locate it and print it out.
Thank you for sort of fixing it though. Now here's what I would like to see:
Sync the wishlists across devices with the site.
Fix the Advanced Search Feature.
Better communication with the members of this community.
Better communication with your stores.
Do these 4 simple things and I'll never even say the word Kindle again.
Thank you!
