On this day last year a whale swam up the Thames to the centre of London. Thousands of people gathered on the bank to watch zoologists try to rescue it. Unfortunately it was sick and died on the way back to the sea
Its skeleton and its story are now on display at Tate Modern and there is a video about it on this BBC website:-
