There are few books on what truly happened in Rwanda during those terrible one hundred days in the spring of 1994. This was the violent, unopposed slaughter of one million people.
One book about this topic is an autobiography by Paul Rusesabagina, who saved one thousand, two hundred and sixty eight people during this time.
I'm currently writing a fictional book on what happened during the genocide.
At this time, there were terrible, brutal, violent massacres. The massacres were carried out by the Interhamwe, which means 'those who fight together' in Kinyarwandan, the language of Rwanda. I can't write more now, but I will be back soon with more on Rusesabagina and on the genocide and just what happened then.
