What do you make of our Thursdays? How many degrees separate them? And chance you might have followed this series with either of the others at the helm? What is it about Thursday’s character that identifies her most for you?

I think many real life Thursdays are librarians. Especially those who have knowledge and love of their jobs. Thursday believes so much in her job that she is willing to "sacrifipreservein her marriage to continue to fight preserverve the bookworld.

Hm. . .I don't think I could follow a story with one of the other Thursdays at the helm (a journey through the Nothingness with Thursday1-4. . . .), but it would be fun to see them back again. Thursday 5 did quite a job impersonating Thursday1-4 and someone will have to help round up the serial killer! Hopefully, he wouldn't mistake Thursday 5 for Thursday Next!

I don't think I would have enjoyed the TN series as much if Thursday was like the Bookworld Thursday 1-4. That mean, "I get what I want", character.... been there done that, boring, and it would seem strange (to me at least) for someone who has dedicated their life to books and stories to be that aggressive. The hippie, one with the earth, Thursday might have been interesting, someone who is against violence but deals with the dilema if violence in the BookWorld is really or not.

You know, the multiple Thursdays walked a very fine line with me between being clever and funny and just being annoying. Although, I really did enjoy how the denoument played out with Thursday 5's mascarade.
If we are to see more of the multiple Thursdays, they should be used sparingly in my opinion.

I think that at the beginning, about 4 degrees of separation are present for both Thursdays. I kept thinking, I have to go back and reread the first four books--I don't remember them being like this at all, for the first few occurrences of Thursday1-4. Those were books I would NOT have enjoyed. And Thursday5 was over-reaction to a similar degree in the other direction, in her first appearances. However, she was capable of modifiability over the course of the book, something Thursday1-4 never exhibited. My favorite part of the whole book is the beginning of the last chapter, where the unrecognizable Eyre Affair is being rewritten into the book we know and love, and Thursday5 is only 1 degree of separation from Thursday--not yet totally comfortable, but well on her way! I just loved her impersonation of Thursday1-4--had to be a tremendous growth experience for her!
