So I had the pleasure this weekend of meeting a woman who works at Shearith Israel, the Spanish and Portuguese synagogue in NY to which the Lazarus family belonged. It was great to hear that Emma is still discussed there with pride as having been a member of that community. I'd love to hear from other members of that community and learn more about the Lazarus family.
