How many people here would like to see the Hollows books made into a movie or TV series? I know I would.


Who would you like to see cast for the show and for what parts?

I would love to see The Hollows as a movie, but only if Kim is picking the cast and HIGHLY involved with the project. It would be great to see who we all think the characters would be played by. Any suggestions?

I agree with you. I'd hate to see the network or someone step in and start changing key elements. That's why so many show's get cancelled in the first place. If it's done right, a film version of the Hollows would be one of the best things ever done.

I think the hardest part would be Jenks. He'd require the most in special effects and live action. There just aren't that many 4 inch tall leading men out there.

Just a quick thought for Ivy - and I know that there will be many opinions on this, but I'm seeing someone like Portia Rossi or Angelina Jolie (statuesque & that commanding prescence)...
Rachel - I thought at one time I'd love to see Rachel Weisz as her, now I'm not sure, I think someone else, maybe Lake Bell.
For David - I can only think of two options - Hugh Jackman or Brendan Frasier.
Hope to see more ideas from others.

Oh man, would I love to see these as movies!!! I also agree with having Portia as Ivy, I think she would make a great character...but I'm not sure if I could see her with black hair...? As far as the other characters/actors go, it's a tough choice. It would definitely have to be up to Kim Harrison and others who are closer to knowing which actor/actress would be able to portray the characters correctly.

As far as Jenks go, they did fine with Julia Roberts in Hook. And that was how long ago?? It'd be pretty sweet to have an actual actor play him instead of a computer animation, in my opinion.

Summer Glau might make a good Ivy. Well except for one thing, she's too short. She is a trained dancer and can be very graceful in the way she movies. If you've seen Serenity, then you know she is capable of doing action sequences.

I was trying to think of who I'd like to see play the leading roles... then I was thinking about the genre and the special effects and I thought, No. I really don't think the movie industry (as it is now) could capture these characters well enough for me. Kim does such an excellent job making me care about her characters, I feel as if they're real people that I know, and I want to keep them that way. Of course, it would be nice to see Kim make oodles of money on films.

Just a thought, but I just saw a picture of Megan Fox on the red carpet at the premier of the movie Transformers and she looked like I have imagined Ivy looking in the books, very sleek and toned with black hair. I think the actors would have to be younger because aren't the characters in the book twenty-somethings?

Actually i would rather see her series made into an anime. You can do anything with that medium and it would be much easier to make the stories as long as they need to be and as true to the books as possible. Plus the added benefit of not having to find actors to visually fit the roles.

I could see Angelina Jolie doing Rachel cause she has the wise cracking attitude down like 'I dont give a ratts butt attitude' ! But, I too would rather have them floating in my head than see them mess up Kim's fantastic books....though she totally deserves the $$ and praise. But I just saw that they have a romantic vampire show on Lifetime - YUCK ! I dont want Rachel to end up on lifetime....gag me !

Though I must admit that I hear Rob Zombie's "DRAGULA" track playing at the beginning of movie when we first meet IVY (be still my heart) ! pat

Now, that show SUPERNATURAL, I do really enjoy that and the Dresden Files those shows rock !

History channel now showing the History of Dracula Family ! I just cannot get enuf of the Vamp Stuff LOL !

Hi All

A movie or TV series seems like a no-brainer to me too!! I have a hard time coming up with actors for most of the roles except for Rachel. I think Mandy Bruno would be perfect!!! She plays Detective Marina Cooper on Guiding Light. Red hair, freckles, attitude...yup, perfect!!

I'm not really very good as a casting agent. I just have an idea of what the characters look like and how they should be portrayed but no idea of who can really do the job.

Shoot I was thinking of Robin Williams as Jenks! He could pull it off with a little make up...or not.

She usually plays comedic roles like in Epic Movie, but she is capable of much more. If you can do comedy well then you can do anything.

For Ivy, I chose Summer Glau from Fire Fly/Serenity/The 4400/The Unit. That would be her on the movie poster with the sharp pointy things.

LOL! LOL! LOL! Vampyre you really crack me up! Your Rex pick is certainly right on! I think he sometimes does that when he sees Rachel.

I think you have made some excellent picks! I love your little redhead! She could be a really good Rachel... funny, and with a little work, tough and kick-ass like Rachel! I also like your pick for Kisten, but I'll be honest I really see him more as a Patrick Wilson (The Phantom of the Opera). Very sophisticated with his long hair, with a touch of pretty mixed in with some sexy.

For Trent maybe Gerard Butler(300)He has a hint of danger and sexy mixed together just like Trent does.

As for Jenks, I'd say that Robin Williams is a bit old for someone who has the looks of a young 18 year old wouldn't you? He would have to be funny though, maybe a comedian like Dane Cook or Daniel Tosh or someone...I'd have to think longer on that one!

I Love funny cat pics. That one is one of my favorites. There is another version with it holding a knife with a rifle strapped to his back.

You didn't recognize that red head? Think Burnt Toast KDner, Midland Texas and Sylar. She was Charlie the waitress. I really didn't want her to get Sylarized.

Robin Williams was my example of how bad I am at casting. I can't think of any funny young actors right off the bat.

Ivy was easy for me. Summer would be perfect for her except she is a a little on the short side. That's no biggie though, if they can make a 5 foot man into a dwarf, they can add an extra 11 or 12 inches to an actress.

Who ever plays Ivy has to have 3 things. Grace, believable fighting skills and a wide range of emotion. Summer can do all this and more. She was a dancer before she started acting, her dancing skills transfer to choreographed fight scenes very well, and she can change emotions faster than you can say VVkiss kissVV.


Kate Beckensale would be a good second choice and more expensive. She has the height. looks and skills for the job. She has also played a vampire and a vampire hunter. A vampire bounty hunter should be a snap!

Of course I recognized her!! I thought that would go without saying! I just loved that episode!! I was sad for Hiro.

I also thought about Kate Beckinsale and kind of liked the idea. I am not too familliar with Summer though. I agree that those three main things would have to be there for Ivy's character.

Who do you think David could be played by? Or Ceri? Nick?

I was thinking Hugh Jackman for David...given his X-Men role I agree that Adrian Pasdar would be an OK Trent as well. For Ceri, Michelle Pfifer would be ok, but I'm not sure...Still thinking about that one. What are your thoughts about Dennon? Someone evil, but who...?

Dennis Franz from NYPD Blue and Hill ST Blues fame would work well.
