Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: I am a Kimiholic...Are you?

Stephanie,

I just picked up the latest TV Guide, and there are a plethora of fantasy/SF shows this fall. Just crazy! I really want to see the Bionic Woman. I remember it, and the main character looks a lot like I envisioned Jo (mine).

Re: I am a Kimiholic...Are You?

Bionic Woman looks good, then there's Journeyman, it's sort of like Quantum Leap only the guy doesn't seem to know how or why he time travels. Heroes season 2!! Heroes is my all time favorite show. If you missed it, the DVD's are due out at the end of August. ABC Family has Fallen. It looks interesting also.

As my little bio says, I like to watch TV. :smileyhappy:

YES!! My childhood hero, along with Princess Leia of course. :smileywink: Does that reveal just how geeky I am? Oh, and I saw a trailer for a show on FOX called New Amsterdam about a guy who is immortal. Looks interesting. Then there's Moonlight on CBS about a vampire private investigator....sounds like another show that was awesome, but I bet this one won't be quite as good. So yeah, lots of UF coming to TV so we'll just have to wait and see if they're any good.

Re: I am a Kimiholic...Are you?

OO forgot about Amsterdam. The guy is immortal until he finds true love again. He works as a cop.

I've not heard of Moonlight yet. I'll have to look at it. Reminds me of Forever Knight.

Television

Vicki,

I'll have to try some of these new shows coming out. But television cuts into my reading time. Of course, I never just watch TV - the commercials put me straight to sleep, so I read during them.

Re: Television

Stephanie,

I rarely watch TV, preferring to Netflix everything (I still don't have a DVR!) but I read on the commercial breaks, too! How funny!

I play with my pets during the commercials.

Re: Television

Vicki,

Anyone who gets up at 4:30 a.m. is a busy lady - no wonder you're not watching TV. Soon you'll start the constant battle - there are superb programs for children (too many) so you'll have to draw the line... and it's so hard with all the innovative media to keep our kids from plugging in constantly.

Mine even plug into their reading- my tiny little eight year old daughter perches on the couch with a laptop running Harry Potter CDs (love Jim Dale!) with the book propped up on the keyboard, reading along. I told her a CD player would work the same way, but she loves the laptop. Are there Harry Potter ebooks? :smileyhappy: I just can't imagine what the future holds for our kids.

Re: Television

Stephanie,

I let my baby watch Noggin a couple times a week, maybe for an hour -- but I think I like it more than she does. I love the Wonder Pets and the Upside Down Hour. I have a crush on the bald guy. (Er...did I really just type that? {g})

Re: Television

Vicki,

Yes, you really typed that! I'm going to have to try to see that one. It's typical though-there was a show my daughter used to watch and the guy on that show was actually a gymnast. [sigh]. Not too shabby! :smileyvery-happy:

Wish I could remember the name of it.

Re: Television

Well, as I look around, it seems we're about done here. It was great getting to know Kim a little better and to meet you all here. I guess it's about time to lock the doors and turn out the lights.

I'll be moving on over to "Showgirl's" (sorry I can't resist that please don't ban me, you can call me Forrester Junior Bob) forum. It will be great getting to know more about Vicki and her books. Her books are unique. If you've not read them, get to it and then come join us. :smileyhappy:

Take care everyone, Happy reading.

Re: I am a Kimiholic...Are you?

Ah yes vampyre. After the past two weeks of reading all of her books, I'm addicted and I think I might need help. Nothing else is cutting it! I had borrowed the books from a friend, but just bought them all off amazon for myself so I can re-read them!!!
