Re: The Kingdom of Wordsmithonia

Hey - would you guys be interested in having the Kingdom of Worsmithonia be it's own entire board, rather than just this one thread?

Re: The Kingdom of Wordsmithonia

Sir Jon,

Your inquiry was recieved with much surprise and a little excitment.  It is actually a question I don't think anyone in the Kingdom had acutally given any though to before.  On one hand it may allow Noble Wordsmiths, Scribes, and Bibliophiles a way to joing us in our festivities without them feeling like they are jumping into something they shouldn't be.  On the other hand I'm not sure how busy of a board it would be, though there are some other boards that are not that busy.  I would be interested in hearing what others Nobles in our realm, including my mother The Dowager Queen Kathy, to see what they think of the idea.

Thank you very much for the consideration and I hope we may have a answer for you soon.

Re: The Kingdom of Wordsmithonia

I find this thoughtful as well.  I kind of like the idea of our own board as we could have a bigger kingdom.  We could also have different threads, which may help in finding pieces of our great stories here.

It is a great thought.  This would be a censes of the people I guess.  What would we like to see?

Re: The Kingdom of Wordsmithonia

Dear Sir Jon_B,

Your idea seems most Excellent to me!  If we had a Board instead of merely a Thread, we could Organize better.  It would be Easier to find remembered conversations, and would diminish people going off on Tangents (a bit, anyway).  We could have a Thread for each Party, a Decorating Thread, etc.

It might Confuse strangers, who would not have any Idea what such a Board meant, until they investigated, and then would Wonder what it had to do with Literature.

With Thanks,

Dame Dulcinea

Re: The Kingdom of Wordsmithonia

Sir Jon,

I am finding myself agreeing with Lady Melissa and Dame Dulcinea on this issue.  I want to hear what some other Nobles think but I'm leaning towards starting our own board.

Re: The Kingdom of Wordsmithonia

I'm ok with it, but I worry about the traffic.

Say this WE get our own board, it goes great for a while, but it falls off say summer when it gets a little dead here. So would we be dropped? Merged back here? or Stay around for another round about?

Depends on how dead and for how long.  If things just slow down like usual in the summer we'd keep it going.  If it stopped completely after a period of time I think we'd retire it.

Ok well.. would it be possible just to be moved back into comunity if we drop off for too long ? Just the original thread.

I mean we never really completely dry up, we just all take trips outside of the kingdom some weeks.

Yes, that's fine.  We'd only get rid of it completely if you guys were no longer interested in it.  I'd ask before doing so.

Re: The Kingdom of Wordsmithonia

I think we should do it.  I think as Dulcinea has pointed out it may be easier for us to keep conversations going and story lines current if we can have seperate threads for them.  Gee, I bet Kathy never thought her brainchild would get this far :smileywink:

If we do it I would like the glossary thread moved over to the new board as well.  That way newer readers would be able to reference what the heck we were talking about.

Re: The Kingdom of Wordsmithonia

As usual, I will defer to my brother the King. though I fear he is upset with me as I left the Kingdom to travel with magical books, and forgot to leave a note. And Lord Legolas has been waiting weeks for me to return.

Very well, since most of you seem to want it:  http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/t5/Kingdom-of-Wordsmithonia/bd-p/wordsmithonia

I'll leave this thread here in the Community Room for another couple days just so that everyone has time to see it, then I'll move it.   If you like, I can give one of you the ability to split up the thread into seperate threads (for seperate stories with in). I'll go ahead and move the glossary thread now.

Since it's a whole board now, I think one of you should write up a welcome post in there explaining a bit about the Kingdrom to any outsiders who chance upon it.

Re: The Kingdom of Wordsmithonia

Thank you Jon.  I've alreay written the Welcome post and it would be nice to be able to split the thread for different storylines.  I would like to do the same with the glossary so all the glossary entries are at the begining all the other posts are after them.

Jon, and everyone, I couldn't be more thrilled.  I've been away from this thread for a few days, and didn't see these posts, and then happened upon the NEW board!  Wow...what a surprise!  Thank you so much, Jon...I promise never to use my magic powers, as VTC seems to think I have, and turn you into a statue.  That was never my desire, contrary to her belief.  :smileyhappy:

I think, now that these threads can be organized, it will be more interesting, and easier to find the logic in our stories, of parties, and adventures.  It's always been exciting, for me, to write some of these stories, but after a while, it became difficult to maneuver around all other discussions.  I really do hope we can keep this board open, for as long as everyone finds an interest in the world of fantasy in fiction!

Thanks, again,

Kathy

Re: Lady Tiggerbear's birthday and Autumn festival

Greetings and salutations!

Just popping in, with possibility a wee bit of jealousy, to ogle your new surroundings. I say, the mermaid fountain is rather astonishing -- were did you find real, live mermaids for it?

Must dash -- the natives are in an uproar today, something about gunpowder, treason and . . . oh, you know how restless they become if I don't remember to serve red velvet cake at every royal event.

Best wishes to you all!

Re: Lady Tiggerbear's birthday and Autumn festival

Queen Pollenasia,

Thank you for stopping by and speading your good wishes.  I'm so sorry that my mother is not here to greet you as she is currently voyaging to visit Lady Choisya across the pond.

I hope you make a visit sometime soon to our new place of residence.  Sir Jon was so generous in opening a portal to a larger space for us to cavort in.  You are welcome any time.

Jon

I was just curious to when this thread would be moved over to our new Kingdom site.  Also how will we be able to seprate the posts in this thread into different threads.  I would like to be able to do the same with with the glossary so all the none glossary posts are on a different thread.

Re: Lady Tiggerbear's birthday and Autumn festival

Hi Ryan,

You should now have the ability to merge and float threads in the Kingdom.  I'll move this thread in there in a few hours.

Jon
