Re: Welcome to Wordsmithonia

My Dear Princess Sarah,

I'm am most distressed by the tidings you bring to our attention.  I had heard grumblings of a Clown resurrgence on my travles out Kingdom but I chalked them up to baseless rumors.  I can't not express how dismayed I am by the idea that they were more than idle grumblings.

I of course welcome you and yours with open arms and will hopefully be able to speak with you once you are settled.  I have opened up 3 suites of rooms on the 8th floor that should serve as suitable accomadations for now, if they are not up to your needs please let either me or our butler, Burges know and thigs will be rightened.

Once you have settled in I would like to speak with you to see what we an come up with to assist your husband.

Re: Introduction

To Your Most Noble Majesties, King Ryan and Queen Mother Kathy,

I humbly thank you for welcoming me into your kingdom.  I have found a small cottage close to the river that will be perfect.  It is warm and cozy and has a beautiful garden.

You may be wondering why I left Avalon.  It is true, Avalon is as wonderous a place as any, but as part of my priestess initiation I must spend a year away learning how others live.  This way I will be able to determine if the cloistered life at Avalon is truly what I desire. I have faith the Goddess will lead me down the right and true path.

My mentor, the High Priestess Branwen, recommended the Kingdom/Queendom of Wordsmithonia.  She told me you may be interested to hear the stories of young Arthur (a very dashing and handsome young man I must say).  He will soon be king of a far away place called Camelot.  The Priestess Branwen says you may wish to send some knights of your realm to Arthur.  I'm certain we can discuss these things once I have settled into my humble cottage.

Right now I am enjoying a cup of tea while watching the flow of the river.

I thank you for this opportunity,

Donna, Priestess of Avalon

My dear Lady Donna,

I am so happy that you have found a place to stay, while visiting our Kingdom.  It does sound perfect.  We do have several cottages around the realm, which were built for visiting dignitaries to stay.  I'm glad you found one to your liking.  People/things of all kinds, shapes and sizes.... come and go.  Please visit the Solarium, and tell us a bit about yourself, if you wish. (out of character).  Sharing pictures, is  always nice, too.

But, please, Lady Donna, feel free to write anywhere on this board.  If you have a poem, a news article, a book review, or an interactive story (if you would like others to participate with you), there is a room (thread) for all....This realm belongs to everyone who comes to it.  No need to wait for King Ryan, or myself, to join you.  Just enjoy!

Yours,

QM Kathy

King Ryan, the rooms are just lovely!  The Hounds and I are quite comfortable!  Our thanks to you and Burges for seeing to it that we are made to feel at home.  I must apologize for being so long to express my gratitude.  You see, the Hounds were having a terrible time with their Scoobicus Doobicus!  My word, I must say I have not seen such peculiar behavior from these dogs before!  However, they seem to be over the worst of it and we have spent the past few days getting to know Wordsmithonia.  What a LOVELY country!  The dogs have had great fun playing with the Smurfs in the garden and swimming; and that Papa Smurf has made us feel quite welcome!

Now, on to more serious matters.  I received word from my husband last week via messenger owl.  Apparently the Giants of the Northern Californias gave that band of Rangers from The Land of Texas quite a beating and my husband's band of scouts  were able to make some real progress, but are still searching for the Clowns.   I sent word back letting him know we were safe in your kingdom and asking what he needed.  I hope to have more information for you soon when I receive the next owl.

Again our deepest thanks to you, the Dowager Queen and the Princess for allowing us respite in our great time of need.  I will be in touch soon with more information.

I must get those Hounds back outside before they have a spell... now if I could just find the Royal Poop Baggies..

Good day Your Majesty!

English cottage gardenII thought I would share a picture of the lovely cottage Queen Kathy has graciously allowed me to use.  If you close your eyes you can hear the soft sounds of the river.  I'm in the process of acquiring two small puppies(for company)  I have named them Boris and Natasha.

Re: Welcome to Wordsmithonia

Welcome to our New Arrivals, Priestess Donna and Princess Sarah!  I am Dame Dulcinea, Grand-Dame of Oz and Duchess of Fantasia, and I Hope that you will both be Very Happy here in our Wondrous Land!

Princess Sarah, I know what it is to be Fooled by People pretending to be something that they Are Not.  Some time ago, I Myself was Fooled by a group of Catwomen pretending to be refugees from the Coup of Catatonia.  They were, however, Not Refugees, but Criminals fleeing from their nemesis, Batman!  Luckily, they are Long Gone, but they did steal a Precious Statue of Bastet.  As well as abusing my Good Nature in taking them in and building them a Temple at their request.

Since both of our New Arrivals appear to be Dog Lovers, perhaps one of them would be Interested in taking in Princess Deb's hounds, Snorky and Dorky?  Princess Deb left them behind when she ran Away from Home.  I may be a bit Presumptuous, since they are currently in the Custody of Queen Mother Kathy, but I believe that they are a bit Rambunctious for her taste and she has her Hands Full with them.  Especially after her recent Ordeal at the hands of the Creature of the Black Lagoon, she may find their care a bit Overwhelming.  Just a Suggestion; I will leave it to Her.

Welcomingly Yours,

Dame Dulcinea

Re: Welcome to Wordsmithonia

Princess Sarah and Lady Donna,

I do apologize for my absense.  I've been fairly ill with a case of severe caulrophobia.  I'm afraid I had barricaded myself in my 5 blue dressing closet and nobody could find me.  Eventually my good friend Melvin did locate me and it took all of Madame Cajes teas to get me into a right frame of mind.

I had just heard word of Dame Dulcinea's idea of foster my dear sister's dogs with one of you and I for one think it a grand idea.  Please let me or my mother know if either one of you would be willing to do so.  Just be aware that they like old socks and Havarti cheese.  I know it's a strange combination but we can't seem to shake them of it.

If I can be of any assitance please send word

I do apologize that there was nobody here to welcome you but it seems the resurrgence of the clown infestation has damaged us a little more than previsouly thought.  I think things will slowly get back to normal and I do hope you find your stay in our kingdom to be relaxaful.  If you need anything at all, please feel free to ask.

Oh good king! I did not see you there! *bows*

I trust you have no more problems entering the kingdom.

I do hope you are right and wordsmithonia returns to normal once again.

There is one thing I need though.. I hate to bother you but I am not a citizen of wordsmithonia as of yet...

Re: Welcome to Wordsmithonia

I beg your Pardon for not appearing at Large in Wordsmithonia recently.  There has been a Most Unusual amount of snow falling in Fantasia, which has quite Prevented anybody from leaving the Palace.  I have received Reports also from the Cowardly Lion that Oz has also been suffering from this White Plague.  While it prevents people from Falling Asleep in the poppy fields, it is also Most Annoying.

Today I had some of my servants dig a Tunnel through the snow so that I could get a breath of Fresh Air.  However, I must get back soon, as my Cats are somewhat terrified at the Blankness of the landscape and need Constant Reassurance.

But Welcome to our Kingdom!!!

Re: Welcome to Wordsmithonia

I do apologize for my delay in responding back to you.  I'm afraid those nasty clowns slipped something into my blueberry and white chocolate tea and I was under for a while.  it took Madame Caje and an invigorating infusion of White Lilac tea to wake me back up.  Luckily Prince Aidan and the kilt wearing nobleman noticed my absence and woke me back up.

As far as the citizenship goes, you already were one as soon as the Triumverate of Zeus, Isis, and Coyote named you a wordsmith.  As far as your title goes, I will give you the Duchy of Karse.  Please let us know what name you wish to go by and I will have the royal painters get started on your portrait.

Dame Dulcinea and the Snow

Dame Dulcinea,

I am much relieved to find you well and healthy despite these horrific snow storms that have been plaguing certain parts of the realm.  I was just getting ready to dispatch Chilly Willy and Frsoty to your castle to see if they could lend you support in any way.  They have both been getting anxious with all the snow blanketing the land and not that much around the palace.

I did want to know how the refugees from Catatonia are faring in this weather.  I had just spoken to Lion-O and he assured me that those that you took in should be fine but I'm just wanting to make sure.

If you need anything, please let me know.

My dear Dame Dulcinea,

I see that my son, King Ryan, is staying abreast of your situation, but please allow me to give you the loan of our snow-bus, Bertie.  It is a very reliable vehicle, and should get you and your cats safely to and from the castle.

I see, that our cats around town are having a hayday!  Or should I say, Snow Day!

And.... a little Tom-foolery was in order of the day!

Bertie the Bus: What a Wonderful Idea

Mother,

I am deeply shamed that I did not think of sending Bertie as well.  I'm afraid I completly overlooked him and I do hope that he can forgive me for it.  I already have Madame Caje talking to Cooter Davenport, that nice young mechanic that Bo and Luke reccomened to us.  She is trying to figure out a way to infuse her warming and energy tea into Bertie's oil.  That way he will be able to stay warm while he's out in this weather.

I'm heartened to know that our feline friends are enjoying this weather.  I have to admit that I haven't been able to play out in it as much as I would like.  For some reason this winter seems to find me inside going over an endless amount of paperwork.  Mary Poppins had to threaten me with a spoonful of something that was definetly not sugar in order for me to go place outside with Prince Aidan.

Hopefully things will be settling down around my officials duties and I will be able to enjoy myself more.  I may even hop a ride with Bertie on one of his trips.

By My Own Hand,

Your Loving Son, King Ryan the Bibliophile of Wordsmithonia

Re: Welcome to Wordsmithonia

Hello to All of Wordsmithonia!

I have just travelled to this wonderous world! I am surprised at the activity here, and wish to join. I have been a spectator for a day and now I humbly request entrance into this granduous kingdom. King Ryan, I have brought Monteverdi with me and I am an expert with the shawm; we would love to perform for you, at your convenience of course. Dawager Queen Kathy, in my former home, I was called Dannia Kays; my profession was the Court Jester, I am sure I can provide after-dinner entertainment as needed. I must take the liberty to tell you all that there has been a mistake about the handsome young man in the purple Kilt. As much pleasure as he has brought to all of you, asthetically and mentally,I should let you know that he belongs to me!. I have been hiding out in the vast spread of a labrynth, watching and listening to all of the nobles here. I have stolen this young man I call Tseixes. Alas, that is why I am no longer a member of my former home; he has fallen madly in love with me and will do only what I ask of him. As requested by me,he has stealthily crept into your kingdom, using his charm to lure you into feeding him information to bring back to me. I am most happy to report that I am sure that I would richly prosper here; with all the various libraries and magic cupcake. And since the weather here is so warm, and I am sure there is no air conditioning in the castles, I require only a large barn, with lots of hay. You see, I will need the cool night air; well, you have all seen his picture! So, with this, I request entrance into your humble kingdom. Yours randomly, Dannia Kays

I'll show them I'm willing to fight,And give them the
best of my life, So we can call this our home
Lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone.
~Sanctus Real.
