MAGAZINE REVIEW: Interweave Knits "Holiday Gifts" 2008 [ Edited ]

It's that time of year (again) when knitters start working madly to finish their holiday knitting.  I tend not to be a holiday knitter, having learned my lesson when it took two Christmases to finish my nieces Christmas stockings. 

BUT....I do love to look at Interweave Knits "Holiday Gifts" issue.  Projects shown range from the kind that take only a few hours (the "Berry Bobble Hat" on the cover is so cute) to a few days (the "River and Woods Afghan" is enormous but knit entrelac using double-stranded yarn it shouldn't take months).  A very useful article also shows how you can use your old swatches (assuming you swatch like you should ) to make holiday decorations and personalized cards.  The web patterns (at knitsgifts.com) are darling - holiday ornaments to knit or crochet in no time at all!

This issue also features a contest - a "count the sheep" contest!  Check it out!

I subscribe to Interweave Knits, is this a special issue that I should start looking for, or will I be getting it in the mail?

To my knowledge, this isn't included with a year subscription to IK.  This is the direct link to the Holiday Knits page at Interweave; you can order it there or your local B&N or LYS should have it (I got mine at my B&N).

Thanks, since I don't have a B&N within 30 miles of me *pouts* , I'll have to go check at my LYS.  But it's always so expensive to go in there -
