Where'd You Go, Bernadette is narrated by fifteen-year-old Bee. Bee is looking for her mom, Bernadette, who disappeared two days before Christmas when it became clear that Bee was going to claim her reward for acing her school report card, a trip to Antarctica. Bernadette has become increasingly "allergic" to Seattle and people and agoraphobic - she's been outsourcing much of her life to a virtual assistant in India. Bee sets out to reconstruct her mother's path with emails and correspondence.
A few of my fellow booksellers mentioned that WYGB has some great moments of dark and/or absurdist humor and that Bee is a great protagonist - should make for a great read during the month of Mother's Day. WYGB was named an ALEX award winner for 2013 and was a Discover pick in 2012.

I read and knit and dance. Compulsively feel yarn. Consume books. Darn tights. Drink too much caffiene. All that good stuff.
