1980-1990's Bk Teens dying....Series about a different girl each book

Hi,

Looking for a series of books I read as a young teen around 1990 - 1993? I think   The following is what I remember:

• The title was the name of the main character of that book
• It was a series
• I believe it told the stories of that person's struggle with their pending death or recovery maybe - terminal illness/cancer?
• I think the characters were all girls.
• They might have been in a hospice or hospital

I think i remember the series you are talking about. A series a group of my friends in middle school all read. I think there was the word angel in the series title. I think the book cover was like black and sepia colored.  Cant remember anything else tho! sorry.
