The book is about a girl who was raised in a village. She has a best friend named Harper (a boy) and she has been tutored by a knight who tells her she is a princess. He also tells her that there is a girl who is currently on the throne pretending to be the princess so that the real one is safe. The girl decides to go to her castle and take over her rightful place on the throne. When they (the girl and her friend Harper) get to the city they go to the castle and try to talk to the princess. I dont exactly remember everything but i think then another knight locks them up and the princess comes to visit them and hear their story. she believes them and helps them escape. In the basement (dungeon) of the castle they find a group of "princesses" and knights chained up and held prisoner. Each of the girls claims to be the "true princess". the knights all know each other. they were the queen's trusted knights. i think there were thirteen of them... The matter is solved when Harper's harp breaks and inside they find a message that tells them that each of the girls is a true princess because the queen was unable to have a child, so she adopted them. oh and Harper and the main character end up together i think... That is all i rememeber. please, any information could help. I would really like to discover the name of the book.

Sounds like Palace of Mirrors.
"Cecilia, 14, has a secret. Despite her peasant appearance, she is the true princess of Suala, hidden from birth to protect her from the conspirators who murdered her parents. To evade capture, she leaves her village with her friend Harper and heads for the capital city to claim her throne. Imagine her surprise when Desmia, the figure-head princess, reveals 11 other "true princesses" locked in the palace dungeons."
