The book I'm looking for is about a rude girl who likes to save animals (like a baby raccoon) and nurse them back to health in her basement. This girl, whose name escapes me, makes friends with a weird girl who wears old baggy shirts and lives on her grandfather's (?) farm. This girl is the cause of the problem for our "bully" (even though they become friends). These creatures that only the Bully can see come after her and their black and terrifying and they always scratch at her. Turns out, the weird girl tells her that these creatures just mirror who you are inside. And apparently, the man character was evil and rude inside and that's about all I can remember. I think the title might have something to do with keys, but I really don't know. Please, please help. I've been searching for about four years now!
