Ok so I read this book once and Im desperatly trying to remeber the name of it. Its about this man who served maybe 20 years or so in jail for "killing" his baby son (I think it was a boy) he lef tto go to a small town where he was hired by this old man to do repairs around the house. Turned out the old man shared the house with a girl (maybe late 20's, early 30's) who had a son. At first the girl was really hesitant to let him work there but she eventually gave up and let him. He did repairs for the house such as:fixing the roof, leaky faucests, cleaning the basement, etc. Throughout the time he worked there no one knew his secret about the baby besides the old man, and the mother slowly started trusting him and even began to fall in love with him. The mother ended up telling him that she was single because the father died when the baby was still young and that they were both so young and poor ( she talkes about how they used to window shop because they had no money). In the end the guy found out that he didnt actually kill his son, the baby died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and they lived happily ever after I guess. In the book I remeber that there was ALOT of sexual tension in it and I feel like the mothers son was named max. PLEASE help me find the title of the book, its killing me
