Lady and a river

Hello! I seen this book a time ago in a store that I found interesting and wanted to read it. But I can't recall the name or author. I think the name was Along the river or lady along the river something like that. The plot was the lady escaped from killers and hid on the river or somthing. If you know a different book like it (I'm not to picky) or know the book I'm talking about that would be great. Thank you! :smileyhappy:

Possibly "Daughter of the River?"  That's by a Japanese author and I really enjoyed it.  Don't know if it's the same one but it's worth a try :smileyhappy:

Not sure if this is it but it made me think of a couple of Kathleen E. Woodiwiss novels:

Petals on the River

or

The Flame and the Flower

Perhaps "Follow the River" by James Alexander Thom?  A girl's family is massacred by a native tribe and she is taken and adopted by the same tribe.  Excellent historical novel.
