We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Looking for a book series about magic songs

I'm looking for a young adult book series.  It was about an enclave of singers who's songs had magical properities.  They were an isolated group with people who could not sing having to remain within the area as workers to pay back the singers for their raising.  The singers also all had their hair dyed blue.

The plot of one of the books was about the search for a young male singer (I'm unable to remember the name but I'm fairly sure it started with a K) who ran away from the enclave in order to find his own way and ended up with a group of pirates before being brought back home.

I know this isn't a lot of information but does this perhaps ring any bells with anyone?

Re: Looking for a book series about magic songs

You're thinking of The Echorium Sequence by Katherine Roberts. The first book is Song Quest, the second is The Crystal Mask, and the third is Dark Quetzal. Song Quest is about Rialle and the boy you're thinking of is Kherron. I loved these books! Hope I was of help.
