I am trying to trace a book borrowed frequently in the 1980s. It was a large format hardback book with beautiful full colour illustrations - possibly watercolours. It tells English history from the time of the acorn rooting throughout it's life. The tale is told from the perspective of the Oak tree and what it can see going on around it.
