I had this book from my local library may years ago. Story line went that a girl was a friend to Ryan (?) and nursed him until he died. He was estranged from his family in Texas so he left his estate, including part ownership of his family's ranch. to her, with her promise to deck herself out in an expensive wardrobe and visit the ranch after he dies. She does go to the ranch and butts heads with Ryan's older brother who sees her as a "gold-digger". I remember one part where she was doing planting (or something like that) with the ranch laborers and she cut off her long platinum blond hatr because of the heat.I think she also started a "book-bus" for the laborers children and made her eascape from the ranch after she realized she had fallen in love with the older brother. He follows her to New York City, declares his love for her and they both realize that Ryan's real legacy was having them meet and fall in love with each other. Please, if anyone can provide any information about this book, I would truly appreciate it.
