I'm trying to remember the author (and titles) of a series about 2 women who reluctantly solve crimes together, finding murderers, kidnapped people, etc..One woman works alone, seems angry, and contacts the other woman, who is either FBI, CIA, or with some other government agency, and wants her help (she has information that can help). The first woman will threaten, blackmail etc. to get the other woman to help. If it is found out that she is helping, she would lose her job. They get themselves in very dangerous situations, and when each crime is solved, vow never to see each other again. It is not the Tess Gerritsen series. HELP, this is driving me crazy!!
