I am trying to remember an author or the titles of some of his books. The main character is a former DA who has come back to his home in Mississppi I believe, to just be a quiet lawyer. In the first book he immediately get involved in an old murder that has racial ties. In one book he hunts the killer of a young woman that his doctor friend is accused of killing. The author is male and the main character is male.
