Would like some help please. I read a book last year about an entire college and the town its in being infected and the people turning into zombies except for a few who were immune. The immune people where gathered by this government group (lead by one of the teachers, a doctor and military) so that they could be trained to fight the zombies. The hero was the teacher's TA and he was hiding a huge secret. Plot points that I can remember:
-The heroine and her boyfriend had a picnic on school grounds one night when they were attacked by zombies. After she was recruited, she saw her zombified boyfriend in a cage in the government bunker.
-At one point, the heroine and one other went to the town over-run with zombies to rescue a dog.
-The zombie disease was caused by a flu vaccine.
I can't remember the title, author or even the cover of the book (nor the names of the lead characters). But I did read somewhere that the author is planning to re-write this book, making the heroine an adult character instead of a college student.
Thanks so much.
