boys best friend dies in hockey accident, gets camera to see into past

okay, so this book starts out and the main character is blamed and outcasted by everyone in his town by the death of his best friend. They were out skating on the ice when they were younger and he fell threw and died. The boy receives this mysterious camera that when he looks through it at certain places he can see into the past. He uses it in his room and sees his dead best friend. He ends up going to the place where his friend drowns and sees that it was his other girl best friend who killed their friend. He ends up running forward and trying to save the boy by grabbing at the air and trying to save him. Somehow he ends up changing history and saving his best friend but at the end he loses the camera into the lake while saving his best friend. They ended it like their were going to be sequels so maybe its a series?
