i read a book many years ago but can not remember the name or author. i never managed to read the end but i have a description can anyone help?
Its about a man who was either in the first or second world war in the parachuters. He woke up in hospital after being shot in the head and had lost his memory, due to this he couldn't go back to war and went hope to his family. He had two children and a wife (who i remember had red hair). The story unfolds and he gets his memory back bit by bit, he finds out his wife had had an affair and that the second of his children might not be his. He also saved a one of his fellow parachuters in the war and even though he died a short time after his father gave him either a job or a partnership in his business.
Has anyone read this book.......
please help

This isn't the same book, but a similar storyline. Random Harvest by James Hilton. A man loses his memory in WWI. He wakes up in a park in London with a headache and a couple of years missing from his life. He goes back home to resume his life, but always feels that something important is missing. It is about how he backtracks through his fleeting memories of that time and rediscovers his lost love. One of my favorites.
