Early Chapters Discussion: Connected Characters

What parallels begin to emerge between Jake and Albert? Between Albert and Bracegirdle?

Not sure about Jake and Albert, but am finding that I have to keep reminding myself which is which. Can't comment about Bracegirdle yet, not ready. But I like the juxtaposition of the names Shakespeare and Bracegirdle

Re: Early Chapters Discussion: Connected Characters

After having read three chapters, this is what I have noticed so far about Albert and Jake:

Both are physically big, although as a result of different endeavors --- Albert enjoys his Mom’s cooking and Jake lifts weights

Both live/lived in Queens with their mothers --- Albert in a brick bungalow in Ozone Park and Jake in a cramped two-bedroom in a high-rise public project

Both are/were interested in film/theatre/plays --- Albert wants to make films and Jake gave up the theatre

After having read three chapters, this is what I have noticed so far about Albert and Bracegirdle:

Both were talented in the computing of their day --- Albert with skills to set up and maintain a Web-based catalog and Bracegirdle with Multiplicatioun by Algorithme

Both were dependable, hard working young men, not party boys
