If I counted right, we had guest blogs by 54 authors last year, including:

Grrrr - the site is eating my text again. Anyway, here are more people who wrote guest blogs for us this year. (Search their names to find the guest blogs.)

Okay, I had posted books by almost all the featured authors who joined us in 2012, when the site totally froze up and I lost everything.
So let me put the ball in your court. Who were some of your favorite featured authors this year?

Starting with the most recent, I'd have to put Rhys Bowen. I enjoyed reading her latest Lady Georgie mystery,The Twelve Clues of Christmas, very much. Then there were Joyce and Jim LaVerne.(I inadvertently learned that if I typed in Jim and Joyce, in that order, nothing showed up on the Barnes and Noble site)Betty Hechtman. Rochelle Staab. I enjoyed reading about these authors, and their answers to the questions from the forum participants, and their books, which in most cases, I would not have read without the intro on this site.
The Twelve Clues of Christmas (Royal Spyness Series #6)

One of the high points of my year was going to Malice Domestic with the fabulous Duffy Brown. I met a LOT of authors who have been featured here or have written guest blogs for us, or both!
A few of the authors I hung out (or met) there - and sorry, I'm bound to miss some:
Liz Lipperman
Andrea Penrose
Meredith Cole
Beth Groundwater (we'd met at Left Coast Crime)
Rhys Bowen was there but was injured on arrival and was unable to attend the events (we'd alo met before - at Left Coast Crime in Santa Fe)
Amanda Flowers
Rochelle Staab
Hank Phillippi Ryan (yay Hank - we've met before!)
Avery Aames (ditto)
Several of the Canadian authors who stopped by for a special feature this year
Charlaine Harris
Barbara Peters (she was a featured speaker - I didn't meet her privately)
Simon Brett (ditto)
Soooo many more - can't list them all!

Anne Perry and John Curran were exciting!

Help! I need your feedback!
What - or who - would you like to see here in 2013? Which do you prefer - guest blogs or week-long featured author visits?
Who would you like to see here for a repeat visit? Who else should I invite? (Bearing in mind not everyone is available, due to deadlines, tour schedules, etc.)
What sub-genres have we neglected? (Cozy, suspense/thriller, horror, true crime, gothic, noir, etc.)
Let me know!

Some of them are so big they probably don't do this sort of thing, but Martha Grimes and Elizabeth Peters. It would be great if Carolyn Hart could actually overcome the gremlins and chat with us. And I'd love to chat with Carrie Bebris, who writes the Mr. & Mrs. Darcy series. I know I don't participate that much, except when it's an author that I know, but I do prefer the visits, where we can interact with the authors, to blogs where they don't actually come on the site.

Ditto on the visits versus the blogs. Yeah, getting Elizabeth Peters on here would be a dream come true.
Who else, hmmm let me think a bit. I mean, I need to think of someone who HASN"T been on here for a visit. I'd love it if we could get Rita Mae Brown on for a visit.( I know she's done a blog for us). I think I've read every one of her Sneaky Pie books, and am working on the second of the series set in Nevada, but it's the Fox Hunting books that I am rabid about. I would be in Fox- hunting heaven if we could get her on here to discuss them.
Carrie Bebris would be good, and I'd also like it if we could get Stephanie Barron on to discuss her Jane Austen mysteries, too. Or, Michael Thomas Ford, who's writing those great Jane Austen Vampire novels.
Have we ever had Merline Lovelace on here, becke? I read all three of her Samantha Spade mysteries, and it would be fun to discuss her military background with her.
Who else, that we haven't had on? Have we ever had Blaize Clement on? I just adore her Dixie Hemingway series! Oh, yeah, and what about Betty Webb or Donis Casey? Alan Bradley?????(Or has he been on for a visit already? I am pretty sure he's done a blog here...)Man, this is HARD!
Almost all of the authors I'm thinking of have already been on the forum...oh! What about Laurie R. King???? Has she been on for a visit?

Alan Bradley has joined us and I THINK Laurie R. King did, too. Possibly Betty Webb? I'll have to check. I know Donis Casey and Blaize Clement haven't joined us, so I will ask them. You mentioned several others who haven't visited - thanks for the suggestions! I'll see what I can do!

Okay, we featured Laurie R. King's books but it doesn't look like she joined us:
Here's the link to Alan Bradley's visit:

Oh, and since you asked about sub-genres, becke, what about YA? Could we possibly get either Tamora Pierce, or Mercedes Lackey on here? I know both of them are also probably classified elsewhee(Pierce with Fantasy, and Lackey either in Fantasy or Sci-Fi,) but to a book, all of the books I've read by them were essentially mysteries. Anyone else got a fave YA mystery author?

I like Libba Bray and Lauren Kate, but I wouldn't call their books mysteries, as such.
I can invite YA authors as long as their books fall into the mystery genre in one way or another. I'll check on the authors you mentioned - I'll check back with updates soon.
