Check into your town or city's local public library. They usually have book clubs that always welcome new members. I went online and googled my town's public library. Found that they had a club that meets every Tuesday night, and they listed the books they planned to discuss for the next 10 months. (They take the summer months off!)
Also check with your nearest B&N website. They have visiting author events, as well as live bookclubs.
